1-800-606-3376. Phone number seems to be tied to Bank of America. Could be a collection agency working for them.

This IS a number for Bank of America. When people owe them $ they will call whoever they can find. I work for a Debt settlement company and have had reps @ BOA pull up a clients credit report and tell me, she has 10k avail on her HSBC card, she can use that to pay this off... or, She's paying all her other bills.

Multiple calls received on my cell phone and messages left stating they were Bank of America looking for me and asking them to call back at a an 800 number. Number on caller ID was from a private number with a 302 area code. Never returned calls, but then received multiple others asking for my ex-husband. Different person calling every time and giving a different 800 number each time also.

1-800-606 3376  x 31804 called my father's house looking for me, claiming to be Bank of America. I believe that it was since I owe them a lot of money. 2 years into a 7 year loan I became very sick and almost died. I lost my high paying job and am currently living on a meager SSD check once a month and unable to repay them. I don't answer my land-line so they called everyone with the same last name in the state trying to find me! Isn't that some kind of harassment, or invasion of privacy?

Wrong answer.  Banks would never do this but scamming collection agencies would.  The call is from a collection agency that is too lazy to do its own research and skip-tracing so they inconvenience neighbors who have nothing to do with the situation and try to get the neighbors to do their dirty work.  Since when did the rest of the world become a messenger service for the collectors?  Let them deliver their own messages.

If they can't reach the person they are trying to reach they try leaving messages with relatives/co-workers/neighbors until that person calls back.
take two minutes and give them the message obviously it's important if they are calling you trying to get the message to them.

This was the number given by someone claiming to be from Bank of America. The person said their name was "Paulette". They wanted us to post a message on our neighbor's door saying that they needed to contact Bank of America at 1-800-606-3376 x 31400 as soon as possible. Oddly enough, they seemed to know that we were their neighbors. We believe it was a scam artist, and we have not called that number in case it leads to something. The person that called us called from the phone number 1-410-585-4324, which is not Bank of America, but a personal number.
