I owed Blockbuster 25 dollars, I didn't know about it. It went to this collection agency and I paid it and they keep calling.

These guys found my Dad's cell phone number (I'm 31 years old). To try to get me to pay. I returned the movies Blockbuster says I owe for in 2 days. I'm not paying and who do they think they are that they track down cell phone numbers of my family.

Some kind of debt collection scam. They ask for someone I've never heard of, and I assume had this number before I did. YEARS before I did, since I've had it for a while. You can do absolutely nothing to make them stop. I use the call block on my phone to block their number, but it's still annoying because it rings once before the call is blocked and they always call early in the morning and late at night. But this country is run for the benefit of criminals, the Wall Street kind or the petty kind like these telephone scam artists. There's no recourse for people who are tormented by these malignant creeps.

I file complaints there all the time. I get hundreds of these calls. I owe no money to anyone and don't even have a credit card. Changed my number three times, but the same thing happens every time. They're criminals, and the government won't do anything about them. The do not call register is a joke.

Blockbuster!! I returned the game and now their claiming they never recieved the game. And now I have a 60.00 charge with them!

I don't know why they call me everyweek (Fridays) at 8:00 am sometime twice, I do not have blockbuster account, the previous owner of phone (one of my uncle's friends) does not have blockbuster account either. I always buy my movies on DVD, or rent from Dish on Demand. I'm getting annoy from the calls.

The BlockBuster thing may not be relevant, because I have NEVER had a BB account but receive phone calls from this number at least once a week.

They just called at 8:20 AM on a Saturday - I let it go to voice mail, but they left no message.

We owe NO money to ANYONE. We're caught up on our bills. Why are we receiving phone calls?

Okay, so I got this phone because it was my older sisters. She had once got this call from this obscure 800 number. She didn't answer because she wasn't supposed to. She googled it just like I did not a few minutes ago and she said it was a scamming thing. Considering that I see all these people saying that they were called by the same number saying that they were getting scammed, I am going to answer the phone saying "I don't go no blockbuster, I HAVE NETFLIX!!!!!" They are gonna pay. DX

And again a call from blockbuster saying I owe 60$

Get calls every other morning from 8006131802. When I call back they just ask for credit card or bank account number and can not talk to a live person to request that they stop calling my cell phone. It took me 2 months but I found phone numbers for consumers to call and Here they are:

Keeps calling for Jason Mardini. It does not give you the option to let them know that this Jason Mardini no longer has this number.

to get an agent simply call back and don't enter a correct account code or whatever they call it. Its a 4 digit code that they leave on the voice mail. I entered 1200 and 2200 and then they asked me if I wanted to speak to a live person.

I have owned the same phone number for 26 years and I don't have an account at Blockbuster. However, two years ago I began to get automatic calls from National Action Financial Services about a late fee. I just got another call this morning. I have filed complaints with the FTC. I suggest that we inundate the FTC with complaints against this company and perhaps we can discontinue them from the auto calls. There is no one to talk to.

What an inconsiderate company.  Never dawning on them that if they are collecting a "debt," that maybe they coudn't afford their cell phone either.  Now I have "Emily's" number and they call every week, with no options to talk to someone and tell them they have the wrong number now.  B***hes.

I recieved two voicemails from this #. Same story as the rest who have posted, different names.

Stupid Blockbuster is completely desperate.

If you really feel harrassed by them you can report them to the FTC they govern collectors and their practices, and you may just find that they have violated the FDCPA and that litigation is possible. You can also report them to the BBB.

Telemarketing laws do not apply to debt collectors. They are governed by the FDCPA of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act which is in turn enforced by the FTC.

NEED TO READ THIS...............

Bad business on blockbuster's side, long story short. THEY changed the number of days when you need to return a rental, HOWEVER they never change the info on the reciept to reflect that new change. So when returning the rental they applied a buy it now charge to collection and kept the rental EVEN though the reciept was still within the rental agreement.

 So after calling the manager and he took it off the account, the calls still came in.
We then called Blockbuster Corp, and they said it would come off and they also called the local manager that it was corrected.

HOWEVER they continue to call my house ever day for the past 4 months demanding that I have to pay the bill with an automated "Make your payment by pressing payment option"

 No live person, no option button to dispute it or tell them Talk to the store manager that it has been resolved. I cant believe that they call from the waking hours of the day, till after I am in bed already. and they have no ground to stand on and harreas me and my family to no end.

 Since then we have been using net flix... excellent, we have watched over 15 movies in the mail, and over 75 movies from the internet by adding them to our watch now que.

ALL for 9.95 AND NO LATE CHARGES, now talk even just 50 rentals from BB and say 5 bucks a pop, that would have been $250.00 dollars.

Do the math,

They say I owe 10.81 on a Blockbuster account but it is clearly a scam. They just want you to put in your bank account # to drain your account completely. I just ignore it, not sure who to actually report it to, as clearly these folks are criminals.

I am getting phone calls from (800) 613-1802 regarding a past due Blockbuster account for a Michael Gay Fung reffrence# 1000. There is no Michael Gay Fung at this number. When I try to clarify this I am un-able to reach a live person.

This is a minor's phone #; why are they calling him?

You say that they r calling for Brandy, yet you wrote that when they call, you tell the there is no breandy there.
I don't get it.....Who is Breandy, wo is Donald Milham?
Are they married, or living together?

BE ADVISED....ANY information, including the information you put down here, can be used to track your whereabouts, your IP number tells where you live, and your provider also tells the location for them to search for you.
Just don't answer the phone when you dont know the number, give no information, and don't play with these people, they are professionals, they know all the tricks.
One thing they can't do, is read your mind.
If they could, they wouldn't be looking for you right?
So just shut up, and don't give any information what so ever.  Get a pay be the month cell phone, and use a pre payed VISA card.
This is untraceable.
Also, don't ever put a pre payed phone in your real name, ALWAYS USE A FAKE NAME AND PHONE NUMBER.

I think its scam. I ve call number to erase my number off their call list it wont do it.

yeah its a bill collector for some sanchez that  used to own my phone number, i have told all of them that this is not her number anymore, but some still call and can't get the hint, i am starting to think this is what is wrong with society, people can't listen or be up front or have no respect.
