Received phone call at 12:05pm that they would shut off our power at 1:15pm today.  I asked why, he said well I am just a technician, I assume because you didn't pay your bill.  He gave me an 800 # that is not our power company's #.  I called the power company and they said that there was no disconnect.  (If there would be, they would notify at least 48 hours in advance!)  I called back the 800-650-2826 and spoke to Willis Smith and told him I had called the police.  He said, well we will still be there to shut off your power.  He hears this all the time...I bet he does!

Just received a call from a debt collector claiming to be from BC Hydro and threatening to cut our power off within 1 hour due to non payment of a bill.  As we had a clear record from BC Hydro of our bills being paid, we were somewhat confused.  We spoke to the supervisor by the name of "JOHN H RAPPARORT".  He was quite convincing in that they had our correct address and billing info but we were becoming suspicious in that the only way to keep our account form being cut off was to pay by prepaid power pay cards that could only be purchased in Safeway or Home Depot and that they wouldn't accept a payment directly at their cashier's office at their main office.

After confirming that all was fine with BC Hydro, we called them back to advise that we've notified the police to which this "supervisor" said 'Hold for the technicians' and I hung up.

This person called said his name was Jason Robinson and then Joe Robinson.  Wanted money for power bill.  Then I made several calls after.  After calling him a thief, and cussing his *ss out.  The man started to request if I wanted to suck of his  big black d*ck".  To be honest, by his voice,it sounded like the man has a deformed d*ck, and the fumes that was coming through the phone, was so obvious that he never had a bath.  Perhaps because he never paid his water bill.  I have him of record and the entire recording was handed to the police.  But please people, when talking to this character, wear a mask, or it will be death of sh*t inhalation.

They called me yesterday and told me our business electricity would be cut off if I did not buy $1998.97 worth of Green Dot cash cards and call them back within 45 minutes...had me going there for a while..they sounded very professional and authentic so I googled the number and found fraud accusations...so, I called them back and told them to burn in hell!!

**** SCAM ARTIST**** be very careful, DO NOT GIVE OUT your person information, such as payment information and who you do business with. Listen to the representative on the line carefully and you will be able to tell it is a scam. Verify with your provider to before taking any action to what he/she is demanding for.
This happen to us and we were able to catch it on time. Not able to file charges with the police but is we have enough attempted victims out there, there will be charges file/ so report it to your local sheriff or police department, provider and bank you do business with. AGAIN LIMIT YOUR INFORMATION TO THEM.

This con artist called our store that the electric will be shut off within an hour and told to call back. When called back and said his name is John Smith. He instructed me to go Cvs or Kroger  to purchase "green dot money pak". Well beware of this scam because he didn't pulled this one out. All my account paid online and never do have any delinquent.

Con artist saying they are from the power company said they were going to cut off power within 12 hours.  Business owner told guy his bill is current.  Con man stated bamk held last two checks because he was behind.  Business owner is of foreign descent and believed con man. Since it was Friday late afternoon he didn't want to lose any business on the weekend so he followed the instructions and purchased 2 $500.00 Paypal cards and called in and gave the con man the pin numbers.  Now he is out $1000.00.  Beware and check with your utility company before making payments.

Phone call to our business number saying to call this number within the next hour or the power will be shut off.  Pretending to be Duke Energy when called up.  Trying to get you to pay money right away.  Say that bank transfer occurred bit went to wrong account.  Call to regular Duke Energy site showed no issue with payment.  These guys are fairly sophisticated con artists.  Beware.
