I've received several calls to my answering from that number stating they are a debt collector and not mention VERY, VERY RUDE people.

If they are trying to collect a debt why not leave a straight forward and clear message with company's name, telephone call back number and dollar amount owed to that company with date of purchase and type of services received.  

There has to be a better way to collect money from the past that has already been written over by the company.  

Check your credit report and alot of the old debt is already written off as BAD DEBT and the customer has already taken the fall of a lower credit rating.  If a company writes a customer off as Bad Debt a collector is double dipping and can be legally and criminally prosecuted.

I too have received the same calls not saying who they represent and why they are calling only that they are a debt collector

So these guys left several messages on my machine. Naturally I call back. They ask me my phone number then tell me I am some company I never heard of. Then they ask my name. Huh? My name? These dumb f****rs don't even know my name?

They say I owe someone named the Kuken brothers $900.00. These guys are probably some scam d****eads. I had some fun with them and then hung up. I realized that any interaction with them was wasting time. I think I'll just refer them to the FCC.

This is the phone number they left on my answering machine; the caller ID says the actual number is 716-650-6240. The caller identified himself as being from "a collection agency." The number 716-650-6240 turns up some interesting information on Google regarding harrassment from shady collection agencies.
