They are the underbelly of auto financing. There are two ways to stop these calls.
1.send a certified letter to them.
2. get a alternate number ie: Vumber, Google Voice etc. This will enable you to block or send their calls automatically to voice mail or set up special greetings just for them.
Finally, never give these or any other misfits your primary number.
TAKE BACK YOUR PRIVACY!!!!!!!

Received a message again on my message recorder from Capitol One 800-735-8596 about automatic payments. Have previously requested, in writing, do no call me. I do not what your automatic services. Little good it appears to have on them calling.

Ridiculous. the previous posts are accurate. Message was elft on my home phone about auto payments. No indication of who or what bank this is or what loan/card/whatever they're calling about. Call back, spoke to folks in India or wherever. Of course they're simply script-readers and don't have any decision making power. Kind of disturbing. Like a previous poster, never been late on my accounts, and I pay a few bucks over each month as I can as well.

Called with lengthy message "reminding" me to set up automatic payments. I've payed $40 extra each month since the start of the loan and have ALWAYS been on time. I returned the call and firmly and forcefully requested I no longer be contacted in this way. The Indian on the other side told me I would no longer be contacted in this way. Not sure if I'll be called again...

Yep capitol one sucks. Dont ever let anyone you care about do business with them. I am currently fighting a 1800.00 credit card bill on a 500 credit card. Total jack***es.

I hate Capital One and bank of America - they call every 5 minutes - you can ask them to stop, but they won't

800-735-8596 is a "courtesy call" from Capital One Auto Finance, to remind you that you can set-up auto payments on your account. What a PITA!
