This number is not a collection agent, however collection agents can call you as early as 8:00 am your time zone and as late as 9:00 pm your time zone. If they call before or after those times they can be in trouble with the FCC.
Other rules for a collection agent is: If they call you at work and you tell them not to, yet they continue that is harassment.
If they call you more than once a day, that is to say spoke to you and not just left a message on a machine, this too is against regulations.
If the bill they are trying to collect is more than 7 years old, they no longer have the right to try and collect it.
These are some of your rights. Just remember, they have been hired to try and collect on something you bought or borrowed on. Most are willing to work with you. If you get a good agent try to work with that person. Yes you can pay as little as $10. a month. They may say or act like that is not acceptable, but it is an effort on your part and the courts will see it as such. This is something else they know and most likely not take you to court because of it. Do not let them bully you.

James is very correct it is not for HSBC, Direct TV or even Capital One. They are another phisher, trying to get access to what ever information they can about you. Always beware of someone when they ask for your account number or SSN. If you are late it is best to call them and make arrangement. As far as giving information remember they called you.

I am have been getting frequent calls from Xi NANP area XI from 800-348-3381, 800-648-4829, and 800-407-2047.  They are not asking for me and they claim to represent HSBC.  I was put in direct contact with the Office of the President of HSBC.  They said it is a scam and reported it to the Department of Justice.  I do not have an account with HSBC.  However, the situation gets more complex.  This firm may own telephone numbers provided to legitimate agencies.  Today, 9-4-2012, I received a call from Direct TV, reminding me of an overlooked bill on another toll free number; yet my phone showed the caller identification as that of Direct TV, but the account holder of the toll free number was listed as XI NANP, area XI.  My telephone software has both name identification and account holder identification.  I could put the name of a family member in the name field; yet, my other piece of software will still show me as the subscriber to than number.

Called twice today at noon and 6pm.  I didnt answer and they didnt leave a message.  I called them back and the automated system said "Thank you for calling capital one" then it asked me to type in my 16 digit credit card number AND full 9 digit social security number.  I typed in bogus information and was transferred to a live person who repeatedly asked for my information which i would not give.  They finally claimed to be "collections" from capital one.  I hung up and called the 1-800 number on the back of my card to be safe.  The rep said my account was fine and that she had no idea why i got a call from the number.  I reported this number to them as it appears to be a scam.  Capital one cancelled my card and issued me a new one just to be safe.  BEWARE!  Never give out your personal info to a number you are NOT sure off.  Always call the phone number you have for the company such as the one on the back of your credit card!

They don't leave a message. Therefore they will NEVER talk to me or get ahold of me.

Collection agencies are a scummy way of making a living.... I wouldn't give them a glass of water if they were dying of thirst.

I will put them on call reject and can do that to over 100 callers..... and they can waste their own time and not mine.
