Similar story to those below.  "Jack Anthony" from a company out of Houston, TX, which sounded like "com-fixo."  Difficult to understand--same thick accent (possibly Indian) as noted in previous comments.  Gave 800-786-0970 for phone number--caller id was "unknown." Did not give access and do not believe him.

On Sunday I received a call from Compfixo stating they were a contracted company for Windows and they wanted to "Help" me repair the issues I was having with my computer. They called me from 1-800-786-0970. When I questioned them about how they got my number - they hung up on me - so I called back only to get hung up on again - third time same thing - spoke with Mack, Ann and Alan. I asked Ann for the address of their company - she tried to direct me to their web site - I said no I want the physical address of their company - I had to ask 3 times from her and she then gave me 10685-B Hazelhurst Drive, Houston, TX 77043. I asked Ann to speak with a supervisor who was located in the United States. Each time I called they stated they got my information from a commercial data base because I'd bought a computer with windows. I explained I had not bought a computer. I called back, I then got Alan who said he was located in Houston. I asked if he was a supervisor - he said no. So I asked for one and he said he was the only one there - he then verified for me again that he was in Houston. I asked for a supervisor again. He hung up on me. So I called back and got Rahul - he said there was no one else I could speak with - they were based in India and it was 9p at night. So I said that Alan lied about where he was located then, right. He said Alan was new and did not know what to say. So I asked Rahul for the phone number of the office in Houston, he said he could not give that to me but If I'd give him  my number he'd remove it from their call list. I explained that he should have my number on his caller ID - because after all they called me first. He said that I could get their number from the web site - I said I don't have a computer so the web address would do me no good. After speaking with Rahul I advised him that I would be reporting them to the authorities because this is truly a scam.

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Did anyone answer your question about whether they can still get into your computer?  I have the same question and also whether they could have put malware on my computer.  Is your computer still working OK?  They said mine could crash.  I did the same thing you did.

They are still scamming. Got a call today 1/18/2014. Same as above...  Phone Id was "Unknown name, Private Number", I asked him his name. He said "Mark Benson" & he had a foreign accent. I asked him for his number and he said it was 1-800-786-0970. When I asked the spelling of the company, I thought he said Combsixo, He confirmed the 'b' but maybe the s was an 'f' for fixo. Same: "did you know you were not getting updates from Microsoft?". I felt this was a scam from the get go... so I said "Yes, I know that". I told him I would have my computer person call him. He was not happy. Scam. When I searched on Microsoft's web site. I did not find anything under either name, Combsixo or Compfixo. One would think Microsoft could put out a warning! or maybe Microsoft or our government are behind this!!!?

Just had a call from an unidentified caller ID who said her name was Gracie Edwards and she was calling from Comfixo and she asked that I put on my computer as I was missing some Microsoft uploads. I was reluctant to do this and inquired for some more information. She said they were acting on behalf of Microsoft. I also inquired about the unidentified caller and she gave the number 1-800-786-0970. I told her I will call her back. I called the Microsoft support number and they seem to be unaware of this Company. I requested that the person I spoke to at Microsoft have her Supervisor call me. Have not heard back from Microsoft. LOOKS LIKE ONE BIG SCAM. Feel Microsoft should put out a bulletin on this.

Yep-same thing as others are reporting here. The number is def CompFixo--its right on their homepage. Sleazy telemarketing campaign. I went along with the caller until he wanted to have me give remote access. I would NEVER do that! They may be legit as far as being a tech services provider, but why in the world would they try to get business by making you suspicious of their motives...it could have been anybody wanting to access my hard drive fergodsake. (yeah, I know, real hackers don't bother to call you first)  It must be a costly way to do business to have someone on the phone with you that long (and why they are outsourcing the calls to India.) I did learn that my computer actually does have a lot of errors occurring, but that must be quite common :(

Any ideas on how to un-do this scam?  My dad signed up for the one year plan and gave these pricks access to his computer.  What next?  I can cancel the credit card, but I wonder what else these guys now have access to from my dad's computer (likely everything that was on it...) - should I be changing/cancelling everything now?  F me.

On Nov. 23, 2013, Phone call came from a blocked #, but the number they gave me was 800-786-0970.  I just called it back and someone answered "hello" no company name.  I had believed they were legit, because they did clean out my computer and  it is running faster.  I signed up for a 1 year tech support for $199.99, but they weren't supposed to charge my card until Nov 27. 2013. After the phone call I got a call from my credit card protection agency stating that a $50 dollar charge had been made to my debit card for an online purchase that day.  They could not tell me who it was for becaue it was an encrypted credit card clearing house.  I made no purchases on line that day and had the company put an immediate hold on my card.  This was on a Saturday.  I will call my bank on Monday and tell them not to process the $50 or the $199.99.  They also told me that they would send any documents or conversations to my e-mail.  Now I can't get into my e-mail.

I received a call saying my computer was not getting my updates. I just got a new computer and my nephew works for Dell and got it through him, so knew it was working. They wanted me to open certain things and said they would walk me through it. I refused and said I wanted their # and they gave me the # 800-786-0970. Their # did not show up as I was on another call and I switched over so their # did not show up.

What a scam!  This place just called me telling me there was a problem with my computer and they need to help me fix it or I'd be exposed to a lot of viruses!

I knew from the second she called that it was a scam, so I was very short and direct to her.

In the end, I said give me your number and I'll call you back.  She gave me this 1-800 number (she had called from a provide number), told me the company name is Compsixo and that her name was Kathy.

I don't know how anyone in this day of age would fall for that!!

Same old same old.  Telling me that Microsoft was not able to update my computer etc.... These people were calling me daily about 3 months ago.  I asked to be put on no call list.  I talked to "supervisor".  When I told them not to call  he told me to "F-off" .  Then I was getting 4-5 calls a day from 5 in the morning to after midnight.  I finally had enough and then  I warned them I would blow my foxfire whistle if they called again... so they did.  And I probably deafened the person on the other end.  It at least gave me 2 months of no calls but it is starting again today.
