Can you be even LESS convincing? Doubt it!

To everyone else who is a victim of these scammers, if you find one of these deceptive notes on your property, it means the crooks working this scam have trespassed on your property and you should call the local police immediately. These clowns don't pull the required permits, especially if their criminal records are checked, and the police will get rid of them .. so they can go to the next jurisdiction.

Looks like they're getting desperate enough to send paid shills to this site now!

I did feel the same way at first, confused & skeptical, it's human nature!  And I don't think it's just in your area they're at, I think they're all over, I live in Roslyn Heights, NY and  I got one of them doortags a couple of weeks ago and I surely did call them back and did end up getting the security system installed.   Pros:  system has weather alerts & so easy to use, works on wireless signals  Cons:  I had to sign a 3 year contract.  I have my 2 little boys and  with all the horrible things happening all over the country, I am really happy I have done something to protect my family!

Got a note on the door earlier today in Highlands 460.  I'm disappointed it wasn't actually my missing delivery that is a week late.  Since I was convinced it must be related to that it made the phone conversation all the more confusing for both me and the guy on the other end.

The guy sounded stressed and just said its all a mistake its the wrong note.  They are supposed to be advertising a security package.  Once he'd assured me three times they didn't have my missing package I said okay thanks and hung up.  Maybe I cut him off before his pitch but he seemed keen to get me off the phone by the end of the call.  So he never offered me their deal.

I guess that's what happens when you impersonate a delivery company.  Confusion all round.  Now I've read here that they aren't really GE and they aren't even a delivery company I'm tempted to look up their address and go around to ask a few more times just to be absolutely sure my package isn't there.

I am surprised at the number of comments on here from people who accepted the offer.  You really want to trust your home security to a company that uses a logo that is close enough to vampire off the good will of a much more recognized brand and uses a cheap form of manipulation to get people to call them so they can hard sell their product?  Surely there are more reputable and safer ways to get a monitoring and home security system.  That box they give you will be monitoring your home presence and access and building a profile of your home usage over time.  It will give the company who installs it access to your home.  How much do you trust this company with that information and full access?  If you need a security system I'd suggest it would be less risky to get 3 quotes from reputable companies or ask known and trusted brands to put you on their mailing list for when they have a deal.

Why is everyone making such a big deal over advertising? Do we make such a big fuss when we pass a billboard? or get junk mail?  or even a banner ad on this website.

Calling the police ???? for what????  I don't get it. I called and just threw it in the garbage. Time invested = .09 seconds.

This IS a SCAM and is absolutely not appropriate advertising, so I "beg to differ" with the woman above who's "husband is in sales." I am "in advertising" and this is a predatory, deceptive and highly unethical, if not a blatantly illegal, tactic. The FTC will absolutely shut this company down, if they aren?t for real. Here a couple of obvious "red flags:"

1.) There is no clear identification of the company on the "Door Tag." No company name, address or even website anywhere to be found.
2.) It "appears" to be from "GE Delivery Express" but it's not clear and the GE logo is "off."
3.) The "Door Tag" says "FINAL ATTEMPT" and was on my door; however, I was sitting in my office at the front of the house when the person delivery these "Door Tags" put the sticky tag on my door! So, the "FINAL ATTEMPT" which was actually the "FIRST SOLICITATION" wasn't even a real attempt, since no one rang my bell or knocked on my door!
4.) There is no "disclaimer" or "fine print" on this "advertisement," so it is obviously an attempt to get people to call the 1-800-821-1458 phone number. That worked because I called it 3 times!

So, to complete this saga, I CALLED the 800# 3 times, from different telephone numbers. The first time I called was from my primary telephone/land line and I spoke with an initially "bubbly" young woman named Lauren or Ellen, or something like that. I tried to find out why I got the delivery tag because I thought it might be a mistake. (I was sincerely giving them the ?benefit of the doubt? initially.) She gave me the "sales pitch" and I got irritated with her and told her that it was a very deceptive form of advertising because of the points mentioned above. Before I could ask a question, she said something like ?Well, I guess you?re not interested? and hung up on me! So, I called back from a different number with a different area code a few minutes later and spoke with the same girl again. It was a few minutes after my initial call, so I'm thinking she had been "barraged" with complaints and angry calls, since she was not nearly as bubbly this time. I asked again what the delivery express/door tag was all about and she gave me the "free security system" sales pitch again. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and/or get a name, email or phone number. She said: "He's out now and won't be back until tomorrow." I asked her if I could leave a voicemail or send an email and she said: "Call back tomorrow morning at 7:00am on this same number." I told her that was not acceptable and that I was going to contact the FTC and local authorities. She hung up again. UNBELIEVABLE!!

THIRD AND FINAL CALL: I called a third time again, from a different number, and this time I got "Rob." He didn't even wait for a question before he told me that "he didn't know what was going on in Centennial, Colorado but that they had been delivering the wrong tags!" "So, it was all a big misunderstanding!" (Oh, that explains it?) He then proceeded to tell me about the "state of art, wireless security system" deal that was supposed to be promoted in Centennial. "The founder of the company is a former Honeywell Security expert. The system is developed by GE but the company is named 2gig.com." Rob told me to www.2gig.com to go check the system because it was a "$2,000 value" and the "best security system available" (in the Universe apparently) and that I should check out the website, system and cell coverage and call back on the same number to get the system installed. "All they will charge me is the monthly monitoring fee."

So, I was at least appreciative that Rob was more forthcoming and had an "explanation" (albeit a bit unbelievable) about the Door Tag "mix up" but I still don't trust this company at all. If they are THAT good and the company IS legitimate, it shouldn?t feel like a ?carnival game? to get answers to REAL questions about their products. AND, they should be investing a little money in ?brand awareness? instead of ?Door Tags.?

BOTTOM LINE: I don't want to get a high-end wireless "security system" from a company that can't figure out how to put the right "Door Tag" advertisements on my front door! Who will they call to dispatch when my alarm goes off and I'm getting robbed--Pizza Hut?! Where does the ?urgent life alert? call go? To a bookie in Las Vegas?! I?m not buying it. BEWARE ALL!!

(Sorry for the very long post...)

Dont need it and dont want it but gave info to my mom. To my surprise, she is getting system installed. She really wanted the medical pendant and the two-way voice.  They waived all installation, activation, and permit charges. I guess it was a good deal. I would make sure to mention the lifetime parts and labor warranty, if you do go forward.   Not crazy about their marketing tactics but I guess if my mom is safe and happy, I am ok with it.

Not a scam but company giving away free wireless security systems. I told them my credit was shot and they said I would not qualify. I try to explain to Steve, that they were some old medical bills but again said sorry, "we cannot install a free $2,000 system in your house with that type of credit" I am in Aurora, CO by the way.

Also in the highlands subdivision, ordered free system and got free install. Got the wireless system and medical pendant for my mom. Pricing was better then ADT and got lifetime warranty on parts and labor.
While I didn't expect it to be a promotion, I went with it anyway since it made sense.

Spoke to local authorities and stated that its just marketing and its not a scam or criminal act. Told me if I dont want it, just chuck in the garbage. My curiosity was killing me so I called, spoke to Louis and he gave me a quick summary of the product. It sounded great but stated I would not qualify since I am in pre- foreclosure.

Not a scam at all, just advertising. Dont want or need a system, but find out is not a scam. My husband is in sales, so I respect what they are doing. Nonetheless, I did't go forward with installation.

I am near county line/quebec and found this note. I inquired and while they were nice, I told them I am not eligible for an upgrade until August. This is when my contract is up with ADT. They said no problem and paid for the next three months. The only issue is that I needed a wireless cellular booster. Tech got one installed in 10 min and its working fine. Remember, don't pay the installation or activation fee, they could waive it.

I did happen to call the number and spoke to Ellen and she proceeded to explain what they are offering.
I did not take it since I just got my security system installed 3 weeks ago. They were doing upgrades of older systems with free activation and free system, you only paid monitoring. They were 3 weeks late though.NICE TRY!!

Hello,
I got one today in Centeniel Colorado as well and called in, they were offering a security system. They said it included free installation and free equipment. I took advantage of the offer but told them I was not paying an activation fee  While it was not a delivery as stated, I still took advantage of the offer. So far, very happy with everything except still waiting on getting the 2nd medical pendant.

Fowarded the information to the local police and the FTC.
This is the worst kind of scam - it makes you think it is something you ordered or someone is sending to you. It's not.
