Called the number, and no matter what option I choose, they want my social...I think it may be some form of the scams out there, because if they're calling ME, they should have my info...

Phone rang..... let the answering machine pick up..... no message. These peeps seem to have a LOT of numbers to call from.
Oh well... no message gets no reply.

I was getting calls from these people and when I called them back they wanted my SSN before they would let me know what it was regarding.  I wouldnt let them know so the woman on the other end got nasty.  Are these people for real?

Contant calls to my honme/business phone for no one living here. How do I stop? We owe nothing anywhere; will not take the time to be harassed on the phone for their bogus claim.

I got a call showing caller id # 1800-868-6401 I p/u and after i say hello for about 30-45 seconds a recorded message cmes on saying to call 1800-840-4786. I called and got a hold of ken lopian who said he was representing nelson watson and associate, When I told him he is looking for my sister not me, he told me to check out there website @ WWW.NELSONWATSON.COM and to have my sister call 1-800-764-2214. Then he asked me if she still resides at and quoted an address, I advised him as a collector for the last 7 years I know that is proprietary information and that according to FDCPA he can not release that information, he said "listen here don't get smart with me and think you know what the hell you are talking about this so before you start trying to quote FDCPA, go to some training." When I informed him I have been in collections for 7 years and have taking the training at least 5 times over that span he told me I don't know what I am talking about. I told him I will not be spoken down to and told him that point I told him I will not be talked down and he can stop calling my # or I will report him. he said go ahead and he will not remove my # again AGAINST FDCPA. Why Would They have at least 3 #'s ( one from caller I.D. 1800-868-6401, The # they said to call back 1 800-840-4786, and the # ken gave to have my sister call him back 1-800-764-2214) and in the background it sounds like a bar not a call center.

I am just getting an 800 number with the message to call. (We have a secondary phone provider so there is a lag between when their machine thinks we answer and the actual moment we get the call inside.)  After reading all of your posts (THANK YOU) I called the number and the person they were looking for is the ex-wife of an ex-employee of the company where I work.  The person who spoke with me appeared to be very nice and helpful (only the future will tell)

Must be a collection agency!!!!!!!!!!  Someone answered and was very RUDE,
aggressive, etc.  I hung up after asking them not to call again!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to be careful. There are very specific laws that deal with this subject and what you can say to them. If you try to BS them and say that you will send them money, it may restart the 5 year collection period.

Ask them for all the information that they have concerning your account.......list of items charged, signed receipts, times and dates.

These idiots had their computer call today and left a message for my husband - didn't even have the last name right!  I tried to call back and couldn't even get an "inbred crack-w***e" on the phone, nothing but music and being left on hold.

Recorded message.  Said my husband's first name but wrong last name.  Personal matter.  Said we needed to call back urgently and reference code _____.  I hate this!  We have no debts.

The "number" called today saying they had a personal matter to discuss and said to call back immediately with the following reference number:  no refernece number followed.

received a call from # requesting call back to 800-840-4786. Called, turns out was trying to collect debt from Sears that Sears informed me was filing suit on in 1995.  Apparently never filed suit but even though Sears cannot sue, Supervisor Mr. Ely seemed to think that this co's right to collect would somehow still be valid.  When he admitted no connection to Sears, I terminated the call.  What he didn't realize was that I had him on third party with atty's in town who specialize in wrongful collection practices.  Gee, How I Love Federal Law.

I've been getting these calls for an "extremly important matter for someone who used to have the phone number for my corporate desk phone number...
I wonder how they get their information, my company has owned this number block for 10 years...don't they know that after 5 years the debt becomes virtually uncollectable?

Received similar weird letters in the mail about old debts.  When I received the phone call, I decided to check this post first before I called back for a 'very important personal matter'.  Glad I didn't call.

repeat, again, and again, now they got my  number. My poor wife can't even sleep peacefully during the day after a 12 hour shift at night.... If i was close i would find them and cut the dang phone line... not the person they are looking for. want my info, was rude then hung up on me.

Serveral different people have called leaving a message that I call immediately, they have a matter they need to discuss with me immediately by end of day quoting 5:00PM. I can't understand half of them, it is impossible to get any direct/specific information from them, they are argumentive, rude, threating creatures. I received at least 1-2 phones calls per day. Really what has happens to our individual right?

This is Nelson Watson & Associates based in Avrill MA 01830.  They are a collection agent.  Give them your phone number and they are supposed to remove it from the list.  Man I spoke with was pleasant.  My number was used by a deadbeat from two years ago.

I don't know if I feel better or worse that I am not the only one!  They have been calling me for months for someone else!!!!!  The message they leave is insulting to begin with, and despite calling them back and informing them their information is incorrect, they couldn't care less.

Totozuah:  They seem to know who called. My number is also blocked. I did call back and the person who answered called my by my first name before I said a word. Surprised me! Remember, without validation of a claim, they don't have squat.......Not on your credit report, then it's horse patuti!

Nelson,Watson and Assocciates called so many times on my home and number. Finally I called them but did block my number. They are collection agency and since I know what's no my c. report, I did not bother to wait for assistance. Just HANG UP!!!!!

First thanks and sites like this. I received two early morning calls from this  number and ignored them. Finally I called. The call was not for me, but a Mr. Devon Jones [ a known deadbeat] who had this number EIGHT YEARS ago. They got the number from an internet source....a very out of date source. I have had the number for 7 years.
