left a message on my machine claiming to be the "US Dept of Education" about "your loan" Left a web address that has nothing to do with USDE. Asked me to call them to remove my number if it was a wrong #. I checked the real website: no alerts. Then I did this reverse lookup. Scammer Central. The real USDE NEVER calls me.

They started the call asking me for my social security number. She said she was a government agency.   I did not give it as I know it was a scam. She said they wanted to discuss student loans and did anyone in my house have any.  I told her I know there is no reason for her to call us.

Calls from this number appear to be a scam to collect 1-800 tolls related to bogus US Student loan information . E.g. you receive a call asking to call this 1-800 number about your loan however charges apply.
