I have also had a hard inquiry reported to me. From LN-OPM, I believe it may be the government security clearnace after reading this because i work for a contractro that works for the governement and we need this clearance.

I just got an email alert telling me that there was a hard inquiry to my credit report. Stating that they requested a copy of my credit report, and also to open up an account in my name!!!! It also stated that this will remain on my account for two years, which could affect my credit score!!!! I tried calling the company but got some automated message telling me to call this number for more info on this company which cost a fee.  They said it was Cigna which is my insurance company. I called them and they told me that they had not pulled my report. They said the only time they would do that is if I requested to open up another policy.  I don't know what to do about this!!!!

Is it for DOD or for any Agency,  Dept. of the Gov.?

They are contracted by DOD to do security investigationson people who are trying to work for or within the government.  Every person is required you to have a Public Trust Clearance. Part of their investigation they will pull your credit report.

It does belong to them.  I have credit monitoring and that's who is listed when they made an inquiry.  (CP-OPM, (800) 854-6004, 1000 ALDERMAN DRIV, ALPHARETTA , GA 30005)

This folk are contracted by DOD to do security investigations.  So if you work for a contractor that need to perform a SI that why they may inquire about your records.  But the number listed in transunion does not work.  I have a need to contact them and so far I have not have any luck.
