Hi -- how did you block the number?  Did AT&T charge you?

2 calls on cell phone from 800-888-9616 this morning. I did not answer and they left no message. People with nothing better to do in life than make trouble for others.

Got two calls from 18008889616 within 5 minutes didn't answer the phone so i decided to call them back the operator said we are sorry you have reached a number that is no longer in service or has been disconnected they can call you but you can't call them

this Verizon call has now became the AT&T call about money in out acct.

They told me they were AT&T.

I had a voicemail from this number saying they were AT&T and to log on to www.myatt990.com to redeem my credit for $990. I am chatting with AT&T right now and it is not one of their numbers and not their website.

3 calls in 5 minutes.  Answered one of them - no one on the other end.

This 800 was 1-800-337-1726 that called me and I got the same thing .. Blah blah I have a refund of $280..

They changed there number.. I blocked it

Received 2 calls from this number late at night on 20 Oct (9:52pm and 10:12pm).  I didn't answer.

I received a call from this number and when  I called back and there was no answer went to dead air and hung up.

Blatant phishing. The voice alone is a clue that this is not a legit Verizon call. Yet, some people still will bite. Sad.

Got call saying from Verison

This number keeps calling my cell and I have reported it to Verizon and no messages are left or we have won a 341 dollar credit from Verizon with a automated machine call if you answer we normally don't answer calls we don't know. I wish Verizon would handle this.  It's getting old.

My husband and I both received calls from this number Monday (10/28) night, TWICE, at PRECISELY the same time, on our cell phones.  Literally, both of our phones started ringing together at the same time, perfectly synchronized.   First pair of calls came in at 8:09, second pair of calls came at 8:29, both at precisely the same second.  Do ya think they were computer-generated??  (pardon me, let me wipe up that dripping sarcasm)  Caller ID showed "No Name" so we did not answer, and they left no message.

I have received a number of calls from 800-888-9617 over the past week.  I never answer and they seem to come in groups of two about five  minutes apart.  Seems to me it should be mandatory that any entity requesting an 800 number be required to produce a tax ID # as well as a business license.   Thanks to all of you who have submitted info re your experiences with this caller.  

Same here my daughter got one on her cell 5 minutes after they called me. So I blocked them on her phone cuz she is just 10.

Got this call on all four of our phones.. if this is a scam, using Verizon.. how hard could it be for them to block this number and protect their customers?  My kids are getting these calls.  

I keep receiving calls from this number saying they are Verizon and I have a $300 credit. They leave no message, obviously it is not Verizon.

Someone or something from this # 800-888-9617 called twice at 1:00 am and 1:15 am this morning left no messages . just wake me up and made me worry that it might of been something important .know i see they are some kind of scam .THEY SUCK

Called my cell phone said something about taking 286.00 from my Verizon account
said they were from Verizon

today i received a call form this 800 number stating that, if i did not call the website i would lose money on my Verizon account. this is a load of crap, these jerks need to be stopped. * the admin of this site should  add an insert FRAUD CALL, SCAM ALERT or SCAM CALL to the "call type"  drop down menu. call it what it really is and not be p**sy-foot around this.

Called twice last night. Once at 11:46 PM and again at 12:06 AM. Are you kidding me??? Didn't answer either one and went here to see if anyone else has gotten these calls. Obviously quite a few of you. This has got to stop. I blocked them on my phone and reported them to Do Not Call list. Hope something can be done.

2 calls from thes yoyos back to back and 1 call to my wife's phone, we never answer, but you typically drop things to look at the blankety blank calling phone numer. Isn' there a way to put them out of business? right now!

Simultaneously today my wife and I, who have cell numbers one digit apart, got calls from that same number, and I got one later in the afternoon.  I didn't answer either.

Scam! Called to say I have a rebate on my Verizon Wireless bill and to redeem by going to www.vzw280.com and enter my information.

received two calls about 20 minutes apart from this 800-888-9617. no messages left. everything i've been reading suggest a scam. so beware. im just ignoring them. would be nice if verizon would stop these things from happening.  

Just got a message on my cell saying a $283 rebate waiting for me from VZ. Yea, right. Funny the amount of rebate is the number in the web address. Shouldn't VZ know about this?

I just got 2 calls from this number within the space of 20 minutes; didn't answer either time.  My number is also on the Do Not Call list.

I got this call I didn't answer it. I called it back and it's a stupid lets talk hot line. I have no way if getting a hold of there do not call list. So I just blocked the number.
