Just got the call from this number stating she noticed I had not signed up for BCBS of Alabama. I advised it was a strange request beings a BCBS rep had just visited our office the day before advising our department on signing up. We were given a deadline of Nov. 30th to sign up and all the forms to do so. As i discovered, my cell contact was my company phone but she called on my personal cell number. I thought it was a scam so I hung up on them.

Same call received here.  Sounded suspicious since they called husband's cell (covered employee) and would only speak to wife.  I reported it to BCBS since it didn't seem right, especially since we make these kinds of selections through the employer, not personally purchased insurance.

Wife answered once, guy says he wanted her to know about added features but she would have to confirm ID by giving her year of birth.  She said she does not give out that info to someone who calls and hung up.  Called back several days later, we did not answer and no message left.  Caller ID shows "BCBS AL".

This is Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama. They contact you occasionally to check in with you or your spouse (my wife in this case) concerning health benefits available to us that we may not be aware of. Sometimes they leave a message, sometimes they don't. Not really a hassle, especially since we don't answer any call that has an unrecognizable number.
