I received a voicemail without my phone ever ringing from caller ID 862-902-5942. The woman was leaving a message for someone I never heard of (probably a fake name) and gave her own name as Pat Kelly (probably also fake since they all seem to use two first names.) Then she said to call her back at a different number of 800-923-9061. I never had any student loans nor do I owe the IRS. I just received a collections notice from some strange company about a debt that is not mine, however, so this is too coincidental that I'm getting these strange calls after getting something in the mail. So it's definitely a collections agency using a fake name/i.d. to try and bait me.

Agree with above poster.  Worked with this agency to pay off back taxes.  They were very accommodating and pleasant.  Not a scam.  The IRS uses them as a collection agent.

They called my mothers house.  I have never used her name or number for anything.  A man named Dave says he's from "Pioneer"? Does anyone know what this is?

this is absolutely about federal defaulted student loans. it is not at all a scam. they helped me take care of my debt when my wages were going to be garnished. everyone should answer and pay their bills!

Just got a call from a "Barbara Sue" - very rude - wouldn't say what she wanted - kept playing games so I played right back.  Actually got this one to hang up on me - don't stress about them - it is a scam collection place.  She gave me 800-923-9061 ext 77381 as well as the number on the caller id 718-475-3725

It is NOT a credit agency or Student Loan calls; it's a scam to get credit card numbers. It is a private number and they want to get your credit card #. They say they want to charge monthly student loan payments to it, but it is a SCAM. Do not answer a call from this number.

I did a little snooping. Although the lady told me to call her pack at this number the call originated at 1-862-902-5129. This is a number for Pioneer Credit. This is a collection agency. Their main number is 718-475-3725. Be Warned

I just got a call from this number, someone named "Barbra" was trying to reach my father. I didn't think about it till after I hung up..But it was weird, the lady knew my nick-name, "Jeff", and called me on my cell-phone. I asked her who she was and what this was about but she told me that it was something she could only discuss with my father. Does anyone know what this place is? And who they are?
