I got a card with a Delta plane taking off promising 2 free round trip tickets anywhere in the continental US and a free 2 nights at a hotel. Did not call the number.

I will call Delta though to complain, since the card looks like it's from DELTA given that they keep referring to DELTA and print DELTA in big letters and have DELTA logo printed on the front of the card.

In tiny print on the back it says "not affiliated with Delta". Obviously a scam.

Just got one of these cards. Noticed that they used the old DELTA Airlines logo that was changed 3 or 4 years ago. Not only will they not get any of my money but also none of my time.

We have been trying to contact you! (This is not a timeshare of land sale offer)

Wow, thank God for Al Gore (joke) who created the internet for things like this.  My wife wanted me to call since she thought it was from Delta Airlines.  I typed in the phone number and found this site.  Thanks for all the posts.   I can't beleive the scammers actually had the balls to try to scam everyone on this site.  Thanks for saving me a phone call and waste of my time.

To the person who explained it, kudos for the logical explanation., I don't work for them in any way.  I have not yet called what must be a new version of this, and thanks to this website i can do a little pre presentation, then i have a leg up.
sorry to disappoint the nigerian 410 scam wishing folks but i suspect this IS a valid marketing company and , while you don't agree with their postcard tactics, that is how tons of things are being marketed these days, via postcard and phone, so ease up on the paranioa and take it for what it is,
i'm guessing the fine line of not a time share is blurry and results in buying vacation points, but i'll listen if i can get, in this case, a delta round trip and a 2 night hotel somewhere.
paranoia aside, never send money to someone who asks, that is the crux of the 401 sam ( called 410 for the portion of nigeria's law supposed to prosecute these).
but medicare plans, timeshares, gym memberships, even investment advice is now sold by this route .   A local person, call him salesman A, he will contract with a company, call them the call center, and they will buy a list from somewhere like usadata, and then mail 5 10 or 15 thousand bulk cards, for which a statistical 2-6 % will respond and give them valid selling leads, appointments or whatever.
It's life, it aint a scam, and it's a shopping medium, no diff than going to costco or walmarts travel desk.
The call center folks are just poor schlubbs doing their jobs, making probably min wage plus a bonus per sale, in this economy that is screwed by all the jokers who screwed our jobs, ruined our banks, sent away all our companies to india or philipines, so they are just trying to scratch out a living.
i don't represent any of the companies involved, but thought i 'd take 5 mins to explain the process so that it would silence the paranoids.
generally the 410 scams are done via email and dating sites,. it would just not be cost effective to pay postal post card rates to get new schills , spending 4-10 thousand bucks when they can do it for free all day long.
if they are JUST calling you and you don't get the logo postcard, it's just some poorer telemarketer where the salesman A was too cheap to pay for the mail and the marketing company said, hey, we can at least make calls for you for a fraction of the 4-10 thousand bucks.
these call centers are generally  in areas wiped out by the frauds who ruined our economy (both sides of the aisle, as they say)
good day
thanks for reading

Go a postcard in today's mail saying this........
"Got a card in the mail from Delta.  It said; "Congratulations!  You have been selected to receive 2 Round Trip Airfares to anywhere Delta flies in the continental USA.  CALL WITHIN 48 HOURS.  YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE AS A BONUS 3 DAY 2 NIGHT HOTEL STAY!  We have been trying to contact you ! Im calling Delta Airlines on Monday to talk to their security / fraud dept and then my next call is  to the Attorney General in my home state.  I am 63 years old and it is a shame that this outfit is targeting people like this.  I feel sorry for the people who do not realize this is a scam (no name of person who sent it; no business name; no return address, etc).  I hope the authorities can roll up this bunch of crooks.  If all of us who get this sort of thing calls the Attorney General or the FBI and reports this kind of activity, then the more the authorities will pay attention to this.   Good luck to all.

I received a card this week with the Delta Airlines logo and a picture of an airliner with the words, "Fly Away Escape." On the other side, it says I have been selected to receive 2 round trip airfares anywhere Delta flies.

What I really enjoy is the fine print that says they are not affiliated with Delta.

I live outside Washington, DC, and I'm not buying it!

look at the mailing permit if you got a card with the number.  they often try to get you to call them instead of cold calling potential suckers.

permit 3950 west palm beach
google that for more related info
may be Global Travel (which appears to be a boiler room operation to find qualified suckers for somebody elses sales pitches ]

it is a company that sends out lots of mailings for sales pitches by other sellers.  maybe themselves too. unclear.
free trips of various lengths
dinners at local restaurants
yada yada

they appear to sell their services to any scammer who wants to suck you into their sales pitch.  else they are a humongous scam operation sellign many things.

they use many phone numbers - apparently to tell their boiler roomwhich client they are trying to help sell you on

google also 800-296-0095 for more related comments

another person  says at another whoozit type site :
This [specific seller] is not an actual vacation company.
[some of them are unless they are subcontracting the same scam approach.  or may be other locations related to the florida one]  They  move from hotel to hotel trying to take advantage of people that have a desire to travel. They promise you have won large prizes (Lincoln SUV, flat screen TVS, etc.) but when you arrive they find a reason to disqualify you from the guaranteed prize. [they confuse the actual seller with the advertising service company][many get disqualified on the phone interview]

I also got the "Delta" post card and am also in NOVA (maybe it's a local scam?). Funny thing though. The ink ran on the front of the card and it looks like an asteroid is hurling towards the plane's engine. Don't put me on that flight!

HI!  I received the card that shows "Congratulations!  You have been selected to receive 2 Round Trip Airfares to anywhere Delta flies in the continental USA.  CALL WITHIN 48 HOURS.  YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE AS A BONUS 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS HOTEL.  The phone number is different at 800-313-1263 but the person answering did ask for a reservation code which was PD007.  I decided to listen and the restrictions that apply were based on answering three questions.

1.  Marrital status (divorced)
2.  Sate residing in (Indiana)
3.  Total annual income ($50,000).  They asked if that included everything and I said not support and they asked for 'everything.' I decided to answer and responded a higher number.

They said due to my income, I didn't qualify and they apologized for the inconvenience.  I agree it is probably a scam but I'm wondering why an annual income of $50,000-$60,000 would keep you from being a participant?  Any ideas?

Yikes!
I just received a postcard to call this number because I was "selected to receive 2 Round Trip Airfares to anywhere Delta flies in the Continental USA....[as well as a] bonus 3 day 2 night hotel stay!"

The fine print at the bottom left hand corner (you'd need a magnifying glass to read) includes a couple of disclaimers (or defenses) as follows:
1) the offer isn't sponsored by or affiliated with Delta Airlines
2) you're responsible for "processing feeS and reservation feeS".

Here are my thoughts on these disclaimers:
1st Disclaimer - They're using Delta's name & what appears to logo w/o any apparent agreement from Delta. A closer examination of the logo reveals the marketers/scammers are using a logo that looks like but is slightly different than Delta's logo. Delta's logo contains a blue and red triangle. In contrast, the blue and red parts of the spammer's logo are actually slightly rounded and aren't really triangles. Take a look for yourself www. yourlogoresources.com/delta-air-lines-logo . Very Very sneaky and telling.

2d disclaimer - I capitalized the "S" because that indicates there are multiple processing and reservation fees; none of which are disclosed so God only knows the true cost of this free ticket before hand. This attempts to create a defense; I'm sure they use it when they hear from that poor sap who takes the bait only to discover that free ain't free.

Anyone suckered by these guys that ends up in a fight should consider arguing that the scammer's misuse of Delta's intellectual property is an unfair and deceptive business practice designed to get them to lower their guard and induce their action (spend $).

Perhaps, I'll give them a call and beat up on them for the collective good.

I am very glad to have found these postings...the same number was provided in a post card supposedly from Delta Airlines saying they had 2 free round trip tickets for me. Interesting they can still use the same number (1 800 952 9644) for cruises, vacation packages, and airline tickets...why hasn't anyone shut them done? How can this be legal?

I guess the fine print that says this offer is not sponsored by or affiliated with Delta Airlines...gives them leeway to scam.
