I get calls from this number repeatedly several times a DAY!!! And..on weekends!!!  I just called the # back and does seem to come back as a Capital One # asking to enter your 16 digit account number, of course I didnt I just wanted to verify the #.  But WHY do these idiots feel the needs to waste $$$ to pay their employees to call households several times a day...seems like the $$$ can go to something much better..what a flippin waste of time and money (on their part really!).  We all have lives, we dont sit by a phone to answer ...we only need one phone call if you are trying to make a point or collect a debt!  What good is it really going to do you for the majority of us not to pick up in the first place..you are wasting your flippin time!!!  yes wasting your flippin time! Get a flippin LIFE!  This is harrassment!  I will be logging the times/days now and I will be looking into what "I" can do about this bs!!!  Again, it takes ONE call, one message and you will get more out of people then harrassing them repeatedly several times a day!  First month it was "Hi Im Linda...I have several options....."....oh and now Im getting "Hi, this is Greg....I have several options..... ".....STFU!

I would report them for that, I do believe that is not a legal procedure, don't let them get away with that.

Maybe they should hire nice CSR's, I had bad experience with the woman in charge of my account, had she been a little more professional and had some common courtesy, I would have been able to clear up my issues sooner without being aggravated.

And it is amazing that they do not even look at the history of the clients they are calling, if they read that the account holder has an excellent payment history over several years, there must be a good reason.

I had received several calls from this number, although caller ID shows phone number it does not show "caller", I answered and it was capital one saying I was past due, at the very beginning of call she stated "this is a recorded line are you ....", I asked her where she was calling from and she said capital one, I told her that the phone did not indicate I was speaking to capital one, I know I am not past due and I will call capital one as soon as I hang up with you. She was very nasty.
I got my bill and called, they had told me my account was not past due and no one from capital called me as far as she could tell from their records.
I finally cleared up all the confusion, it seems capital one bought or took over for HSBC, I could not find a statement from either company, so I was passed due without knowing. I got the whole thing cleared up, paid up, they removed late fee. They also said the change over is causing copious problems resulting in statements not being sent out. Call them perhaps some of you may have same issue.

They called and left a message that they were a doctors office and needed us to call back to set up diagnostic testing. Seemed very unusual that it was not a local area code for the call back number!!!!  I understand they have a job to do, but that is just wrong to do to someones family!! As a bill collector you should be ashamed of yourself!!!

This isn't true.  They also call to sell you crap.  I have an old zero balance account with them and they have been calling 5 times a day to sell me crap I neither need nor want.  Unfortunately since I have an old account with them they are allowed to call me and harass me, and I can't threaten them with the DNC list.  Calling them and asking to be removed only seems to intensify their efforts.

It's a scam. They want your personal information without revealing any of their own. Contact your DA.

They will not work with you, all they do is threaten you and belittle you and treat you like trash!

I have a Cap One credit card AND a Cap One car loan. They don't harass people. They're one of the few companies who realize you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar! They really have been kind in working with me on a late car pmt and/or CC pmt here & there. Life DOES happen to the regular person. No one is beyond help and it just takes some humility, patience and telling them what you CAN pay. In my situation, i wa out of work last yr for 6 months. I got over a month behind on everything. CAPONE was the ONLY company I offer breaking things down into small pmts to help me. MOST credit companies are total A-HOLES, but this one I gotta hand it to 'em...they helped me--and in turn--I did what I told 'em I'd do, which was hell, but worth it in the end to get caught up!!!

I come to see who called my phone and i see this terrible advice from some lazy unemployed p.o.s. about buying an airhorn to use to harass a person with a job? Kill yourself, loser. Im gonna call these people and if i owe them money ill pay like a grown up, not waste time and energy (that you could be using to look for a job) on phone games.

I've been receiving calls from this number, I did miss my capital one payment last month, I am paying up my bill now.

I get leery if I hear a voice with a foreign accent of any kind asking for money, How do I know who I'm really talking to???.

Also, Isn't it illegal to call during the dinner hour (6 pm Central time) especially on Sunday!!!!!

Add them to your contacts and then depending on the phone you might be able to deny the call and send it to voice mail each time or some have a blocking feature to block anyone in your contacts.Look at what you phone can do.

Or answer "local" police department how might I help you. Please insert your police department.

It is Capital One so you might wish to send them a letter informing them to stop. Send it certified then after receipt  of the letter any calls record date and time and get one of these lawyers who will get a settlement that you get nothing but a quiet phone from. The settlements are usually eaten up in costs but the calls stop.

Today I got a call from "1-800-955-6600" (if that is the REAL number) there was a  left message on my voice mail from "Linda" requesting a return call to 866-953-7906 "regarding" Capital One. smells phishy to me.

EVERY government and police agency in the country tells you to NEVER give out your credit card # or your social security number to someone who calls you, UNSOLICITATED.  Capital One needs to upgrade their computer systems so that they can search for their customers by name or even phone number.  Seems logical but, wait, I forgot I am dealing with a bank.
