If you got a call from the CRA asking you to call back @ 1-800-959-2270, it's because you owe money to the governement and if you do not call back they can take action and seize your accounts!! you better call back and take payment arrangements!!

I got the same thing - pick up, ringing, they asked to speak to my spouse (by name, unlisted - otherwise really suspicious) and asked she call back with her SIN from 7-23hrs Mon-Fri. 1800-OCANADA confirmed that was indeed the valid french 1800 number for Canada Revenue Agency (english number is 1800-959-2250).

Vérifiez auprès de 1-800 O Canada afin de valider s'il s'agit d'un numéro appartenant au gouvernement... Call 1-800 O Canada to check if it is a government number.

phone rings i pick up the phone ringing they pick up called to talk to my girlfriend they said they were from canada revenue agency 1-800-959-2270 was the number to call them back because they needed her social inssurance number wath was even stranger is i could call back till 11PM. that s it did not call back
