I have a charge on my Visa card on 8/9/13 for the amount of $22.98 from "Heartland America 800-966-1233 MN" I want a refund and no more charges on my account.

I've been getting these catalogs for three years, unsolicited. The last two years I was unable to remove myself from the lists because the customer number box was blank, but I was told they would stop if I didn't order anything. I got another one this year and it came with a customer number. When I called I was given another number, 888-601-1963 to remove myself from the list. I called that number twice and all I get is a fast ring, never picks up.
I was about to order something from these guys last year but between the horrible reviews and this shiesty maneuver, I'll just toss them in the recycle bin at the post office should I get any more catalogs.

I didn't get a call, but my credit card was billed $72.97 for something I never charged.
I suppose it is one of these bogus memberships that other people didn't want but were charged for??

This is Heartland America and i received a $43.98 charge to my checking account. I called and Karen at heartland told me it was to renew my Value Customer Club membership. I told her to cancel this and all future charges. She said they sent out a mailer that said if you can cash their $10 check to apply to an order but if you don't cash the check and don't call to cancel, you will be charged this renewal fee. I told her to refund my money and take me off thier customer list. She said my refund would appear in 3-5 business days.

Probably your "Value Club" membership renewal. They do this automatically. You can call to have it removed.
