Our business fell for this promotional deal a few years ago supposedly offered by Verizon. We ended up paying a lot more than we were already paying despite their assurances that we were lowering our bills after reviewing our account. They did have all of our account information and somehow managed to bill us through Verizon. When we complained to Verizon about receiving higher bills than promised and higher than we had had before we accepted the changes, their manager advised us that this was not a legitimate offer from a legitimate Verizon account manager & that they were receiving a lot of complaints from their customers who were also duped. It took weeks between the real Verizon people and the PRESIDENT of our company to get this resolved and back to our original plan. Our standard line to these people, who have once again started calling us is "we do not take phone calls from Verizon. You must submit proposals in writing" to which they generally hang up. But TODAY, one of them actually left his name and number so will be advising our legitimate Verizon acc't mgr. to see if what course of action either of us should pursue to stop these calls.

They refuse to say what the name of their company is but continue to say
"we represent Qwest". Finally, they faxed us a letter saying "thank you for considering Qwest Communications...." etc. We have not considered it. The fax came from "Telnet" according to the "stamp". The man says his name is Rodney Tate, but refuses to talk to anyone but an "owner". His response when I ask what company he works for is "I am not at liberty to divulge that information to anyone but the owner"

A person by the name of Victor, calls me and represents himself as a Verizon employee. He offers me to check my telephone accounts and offer me new phone deals. I ask him my account number - and he does not know it. I ask him how many phone lines I have - he can not tell me.
Beware of solicitors who present themselves as Verizon employees. They are not and just try to sell you new services.

Got a call from them. "Thomas" said he represented Verizon. Funny thing is, they had ALL of my information, account number, even the lines I had on the business and how much my bill was for the previous month. They saw that I didn't have unlimited nation wide calling (which was correct), even gave me my exact numbers that I called (the number, time of call, and amount charged for it), and knew which Verizon Fios plan I had. I thought it was legit, then I come here and read this.

I get daily calls from this number but there is never anyone there.

Just wanted to say, this company is completely legitimate. Firstly, they are not a phone company so they cannot 'switch you to their service' they don't provide service. They sell phone plans on behalf on version just like a kiosk at a mall. Telemarketing can get fishy but this group is not a scam.

called on "behalf of Qwest"
Telnet is the company I believe. they are not part of qwest. they call people and companies in an effort to enlist our services thru them instead of going thru the company the supposedly represent.
Any time you get a call and they say they are "calling on behalf" of anyone, you can generally take it that they are not actually with said company. scammers use this alot.
