The Chicago Way???????

We applied for a re-finance of of a loan with Wells Fargo.  We have an excellent credit rating, etc., etc., etc.   We're now months into the process.

During the initial in-take process, while just passing the time of day, I made a statement concerning my displeasure related to Obama.  The process has been hell to pay since.

We're now two months into the process.  Now we learn that the residence has been classified as "multi-family".  What??????   The house is a modest 3/2 in a restricted neighborhood where "multi-family" isn't allowed.  The county's taxing still maintains their record shows that the house is a "single family" residence (and hasn't been changed).  Wells Fargo has copies the PIN and all property records that show the house is a 3/2 single family residence.  Yet Wells Fargo won't process the loan further without extracting more funds.  

I smell the "Chicago Way".  We either have a conspiracy of malice or a conspiracy hatched by incompetence.  One or the other.  I would advice any one and I mean any one to stay away from Wells Fargo.

I heard that Moody's has down graded them but haven't seen or read the story.

Something is bad wrong with a company that insists the customer agree that their version of reality (that the house is multi-family) when it isn't - and they have received evidence to the contrary.

Here's some info we dug up that can help you contact some higher ups at Wells Fargo if you've tried regular customer service and escalating to supervisors and it's not working out.

First read this post about how to contact and conduct yourself when using executive customer service.

1) Call 866-249-3302. Ask to be transferred "to the office of Mr. Stumpf." Once you reach the secretary or switchboard operator, say the following:

"Hello, my name is ________. I'm one of your customers, and I was hoping to speak to Mr. Stumpf because I'm really getting frustrated with getting a problem resolved, and I know that your company doesn't want me to feel that way."

2) You can also send some of their busy executives a well-written and cogent complaint letter (here's how to write one):

I traded a vehicle and I used my may payment as part of a down payment on a newer car with a different bank loan. They called me and said your auto payment will be 30 days past due. I told them they will be getting a check for the full amount in 5 to 7 days they told me that I sign a contract saying that I will make payments every month until the loan is payed off. They told me if I don't make a payment they will repo my trade in. Really they are getting a Damn check for the full amount helloooo!!

yep steve.....These people at wells fargo should appreciate the bad economy and be nicer to those who help them stay employed..I personally do not have anything against the company but i do think one phone call a day would accomplish the same thing as twenty calls.  I myself would pay with the one phone call because the other nineteen will not make me have the car payment money any faster.

My auto is financed through Wells Fargo Auto Finance and for the first time in 2 years I have been late, December payment, and so far have received calls from 3 different numbers which I do not answer because they do not always come up with Wells Fargo as the caller. This is my first time of dealing with this kind of thing, but I guess I will keep on  keeping on as I will not be catching up for 3 weeks yet.  Let them call, they are the ones doing the work, all the rest of us have to do is google the number and we know.

1-2 days late...yes the calls begin and don't end..  Multiple numbers to get you to answer the phone. At some point you just don't feel like answering your phone at all!  WE all have difficulties and lenders used to be sympathetic once or twice a yr to allow you to skip a pymt adding it to the end.  But now, they eat your flesh trying to get the pymt.  "Why was it late, " they ask.  Death, illness, off work, catching up on bills, etc. They really don't care--just have to document something.  Do they just want you to feel even smaller than you already feel?  I don't even LIKE my stupid SUV gas hog that I am paying on. I will be glad when I don't have to deal with them anymore-- in 2 yrs.

That is a great attitude to have. I have never thought of it that way. Thank you very much for giving me a positive outlook if I have become behind on my auto loans with Wells Fargo, or any credit card account. I can't believe I never thought of it that way. Next time I come past due on an account and a rude person calls I will have to tell them they should be nicer cause I'm the reason they have a job. I personally like Wells Fargo we have 3 auto loans with them and yes we have been late in the past and they work with us. They take a payment agreement, document the account and the calls stop. Yes they do have multiple numbers but thats because they have multiple call centers.

My credit score was down just a little too far for my bank to finance my vehicle.They suggested Wells Fargo. I said great and financed through them. Boy, I wished I hadn't. I'm never late with any of my bills, including Wellsfargo. I am deaf and use my cell for text message only, so I know it's Wellsfargo.They call from several different numbers. According to the contract I signed you have a 10 day grace period before you're considered late. The day after the due date expect a call or two from Wellsfargo if you haven't paid.I make all payments online so it's almost automatic. It still takes them another day or two to stop these harassing phone calls. This is the first time in over a year I've been past the due date. I've refinanced my home through another bank and that will be final in about two weeks and I will pay these people off and never deal them again. I will also let them know how I feel about their business practices

I wonder how many different phone numbers wells fargo has...I am behind on my payment just less than a month but they call all day and of course up until 9 P.M.  They are not rude because I never answer and they never leave a message....Someday the car will be paid for and life will go on. For now I am helping to keep someone employed at Wells Fargo.....

This is Wells Fargo Financial calling about late auto loan payment. IMO - Do not do business with Wells Fargo.  They are ridiculous about calling multiple times, if your payment is even one day late. Not only do they call an excessive number of times, they will continue to call even after you have made your payment.  Their employees are rude.  They also use every trick in the book, calling at the very last moment before 9:00pm, and using multiple numbers, in an attempt to get you to answer.  Find a better bank.

they call my phone 3 times a day & ask for a tosha & I do not know anyone by this name. I have never even dealt with this company before. I think someone used a random number & it just happened 2 be mine. If they do not stop calling me I am going to report them for harrassment!

omg WELLS FARGO need a wake up call everyone other car loan company is willing to work with their customers ,wells fargo heck no...they prefer to call you all day everyday from 8;05 am to 9pm.One day i received over 20 calls alone from wells fargo ,not to mention how many times they call you at the end of the month

They already picked my car up...after 2 months late payment...beware. They do not play. And yes I get at least 16 calls from them daily when my payments are late. One time one left me a message that said "Good luck" Thats the only time I called them back. They are so sneaky!! lol
