Received two calls to my cell phone from 801-899-4124 (Utah) with an hour. Didn't answer the first because I didn't recognize the number, answered the second time and the caller said they were from Petco and asked if I had shopped there recently-no greeting etc...didn't verify who I was etc..I didn't answer her questions, just told her to take me off her list immediately and that she was calling a cell phone illegally. They say they get around the "Do Not Call" registry because they are conducting "legitimate" surveys.

I recently just worked at one of these phone call center for 2 months and the number(s) that you see on your caller I.D. can be from any state. These research firms all work together to help maximize customer service for the companies that hire research centers. I was a bit skeptical about working at a call center for the summer, but it wasn't that bad. I only worked there to save up money for minor college expenses and have something to do other than being a couch potato. I learned quite a lot of how various companies and research firms operate, although, the research firms also connect with political organizations and many other organizations/companies that need some type of feedback from customers and residents.

Petco is one of the surveys that can take about 90 seconds to 3 minutes just depending on your response. The length of the survey is up to the company, but what I would do is "speed up" the survey so that the respondent can get back to whatever he/she is doing. If they are busy we usually set a call back time or mark it as unavailable so that someone can call them again. If no one answers then the computer will automatically keep that number and dial it again and again and again until someone picks up. IF YOU ARE GETTING CALLS FROM PETCO TO DO A SURVEY YOU PEOPLE SHOULD TRY AND PARTICIPATE, BECAUSE IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 90 SECONDS OF YOUR TIME. They are basic questions such as, did you have any trouble finding an associate to help you on that visit? They are basically yes/no questions and satisfaction scale numbering type system. Most of the people I interview complete the survey in less than 90 seconds which is very fast, BUT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO PARTICIPATE IN THE SURVEY THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

The people that work at these call centers are college students, disable veterans, and many other people that need a job to make ends meet. My heart goes out to those people that might keep these jobs temporarily or permanent. I know this isn't a job I would want to keep forever, but some people have no other choice to work there. I thought my main my problem would be conflicting with the bosses or employees, but it was actually the respondent on the other line. I was sooo dismay with what people said to me on the phone, Later on I didn't care what kind of rejections I was getting, but I was worried about the veterans and disabled personals. My thoughts of these Americans were portrayed as- STUCK UP MIDDLE UPPER CLASS SO-CALLED AMERICANS. One of the rejections that I still remembered says, "lady!! Why are you even calling me? I've been receiving these calls for the past 3 days. Your job sucks! Can you even get a better job than bugging the sh*t  out of someone. Take my name of the list!!!" *hangs up on me. I didn't take it personally, I just found it funny, because my major at my local University is Clinical Laboratory Scientist. One day I might be saving the life of the people that rejected me in an inappropriate manner. WITH THAT BEING SAID, YOU SHOULD TAKE THE TIME TO TALK TO SOMEONE AND ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS, BECAUSE IT MIGHT MAKE THEIR DAY. THE PAY AT THE RESEARCH FIRM THAT I WORKED AT WAS MINIMUM WAGE, BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOUR PRODUCTION RATING. A PRODUCTION RATING IS A SYSTEM THAT DETERMINES HOW MUCH YOU GET PAYED BY THE NUMBERS OF SURVEYS YOU COMPLETED. YOU CAN MAKE ANYWHERE FROM $7.54 TO $10.54 AN HOUR. IT'S NOT A LOT OF MONEY. THE EMPLOYEES THAT WORK HERE MIGHT MAKE HALF OR A QUARTER A YEAR OF WHAT YOU PEOPLE MAKE. IN AMERICA IT'S NOT SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT WHEN YOU HAVE A PAYCHECK THAT IS ABOUT HALF OR THE QUARTER OF A SUCCESSFUL AMERICAN'S PAYCHECK.

rude person claiming to be doing a survey for Petco. when I told him I don't like sales people calling my cell phone, He said He want selling anything, He was doing a survey. I said I don't like anyone calling me to do surveys either. He said "good for you!" and hung up on me.
Petco, if you can't hire professionals you will be losing a lot of business...annoying

This number has called my phone 10 times over the weekend alone. I do not answer and they do not leave message. Harassment!

Same here. you can call them and get a message that they are SSI. But you can't talk to someone or leave a message.

They keep on calling, often hang up after giving my name. Caller ID is "Survey Sampling". Indeed sleazy a-holes who ignore any do-not call lists

Just received another annoying call from 801.823.2028 AUTO VOICE. Hit delete when it was over. I have no idea how to get off their calling list.

They have a do not call list.  Email them at info@surveysampler.com or call them at (819) 770-3651 to have your name added to their do not call list w/in 5 business days.

Caller id shows Survey Sampling utah number 8018232028.  Did not answer left no message

Keep getting calls from 801 823 2028 almost on a daily basis. Have told them many times to stop calling & keep filing complaints with DNC (with no success). Today, 4/14/2013 I asked the name of their Co. & she said Mountain West Research. Said she wanted personal information about care I receive from my Dr. She said that she would not see the info...DUH! Told her that any info. between my Dr. & me was private & she hung up. I looked up the name of the Co & their address is 1110 Yellowstone Ave. #227, Pocatello, ID 83201 & the Ph. # listed was 208 232 1818, Am sure they will call again tomorrow but with a different person on the line. This stuff needs to stop.

Wrong!!  Called and asked for my husband personally!! So that is a lie!!  They also sent out a survey that stated that we did not have to participate it is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. LOL!!

Kept getting calls on a nightly basis, answered and they'd hang up. Last night I actually spoke with a representative and then the conversation got nasty and felt harrassed...I hung up on them! And they called back immediately. And now I know not to answer the phone from this area code.

Got a call several days now on a row. no message. a hang up.  I had my cell blocked from solicitors a long time ago and they still seep threw.  I will not answer unknown calls.  This is bugging me and wish it to stop.

The "dead time" everyone hears is the delay from the robo-caller making the connection and a live operator to jump on the line.
I *blocked* them ;)
