They are not trying to sell you a home security system.   They are trying to see if you already have one before they before they break in to your home and rob you.   I always tell similar scam artists that I have an excellent security system and that if anyone tries to break in to my home they will regret it.  Cell calls are reported to come from the area code listed for the phone ( such as Utah), not from the actual location of the phone (such as your neighborhood).

I just received a call from the same number.  I didn't pick up in time but I tried calling back.  I received a disconnect message.

Got a call from this number also. And from the 312 area code number. This is ridiculous.

They just called my cell and did not say a word. I called back and the number is said to be disconnected.

First call today from this number. Don't answer unrecognized numbers and they left no message.

Beware ! ! ! They Are Not Who They Claim To Be - This Is A Subversive Attempt To Verify Who You Are.
The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call.  Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

Please block this unwanted call from my number. They are harassing me and I want it stopped!

Same for me - on the DNC list but they continue to call - sometimes  2- 3
times a day.  What button on the phone are we suppose to push repeatedly to make the computer throw the number out?

I've missed three calls from this number today.  So aggravating!  I assumed it was a telemarketer.

I got a call today.  I told them I have security cameras all around my home .  They seemed disinterested afterward.  Did not call back as promised to talk to my husband.  I am on the DNC list as well.

Have received numerous calls all from different numbers. ID says HOMEPROTECTION. On a couple of the calls I waited and talked with someone and asked why they were calling me. That I have opted out of their call list and my number is on the Do Not Call Register. Silence.......lots of background noise, but nothing further from the perky person with whom I first spoke!! Then I go find something that makes a really loud noise and give the caller an ear full!! Other numbers 267-535-5502, 334-059-4744.

I bought a hand-held air horn at my local marine store. I just press 1 (or whatever they tell me), then wait until I get a live human voice on the line. Then... HONNNNNNNNNNNNK!!!

Don't know how much that rings their bell, but I like to think I'm getting my money's worth.

The number (615) 397-1141 is a private number and is unlisted. Do not call this number again!

I just got my second call for these people. Neither time have I answered it

Sick and tired of these calls. I have home security system from a reputable company. It does no good to call consumer affairs, they don't care.

Also got calls from two of the same numbers. 801-852-8334 & 312-589-7206.

Started getting  calls from these people after I entered  a contest at HGTV . They keep calling !

Called after 6 pm from home protection.  Did not talk to her, just hung up.

I like your idea of a DNC spreadsheet! Do you use Excel or what?

Caller said she wanted to install a ge home protection at no charge in exchange for them putting a sign in my yard.  I told her I wasn't interested and hung up.  I checked my DNC violation spread sheet and see I received a call from them about a month ago and told them not to call back.  Different number but same GE home protection call.  

I suspect they think they're exempt from the DNC law because they claim to not be selling anything.  Of course, the installation of the protection system is no good without the alert, which will cost something.  Sounds like they're trying to walk a fine line when it comes to DNC violations and the FTC could get them.  They're an actual business selling a real product.  Stupid for them to be making these type of calls.  File FTC Do Not Call Complaint.

Caller ID states Home Protection. Didn't answer. Have received 3 calls in the last 3 days from Home Protection all from different numbers:

Telemarketer selling "free" home security system. What they all have in common is the
monitoring company--Monitronics. Searched the web for Monitronics' website and emailed
them a message stating that I have reported them to the FCC as well as the
Attorney General's office. They claim it is not their company and that the telemarketers
are lying, but have had other calls including two from the previously mentioned numbers, all of whom
stated they were calling on behalf of Monitronics.Have blocked all of the numbers, but I am sure
they will call from another one!
