I got the call and although they didn't say a company name, they did say they were calling me because I had "requested information about furthering my education" (which I never did).
I don't know how they got my number, but there are now calls coming in from WA, UT, and AZ all saying that I (again) "requested information about furthering my education" and the fact that they're all saying the exact same thing makes me believe all the numbers are for one company.

Just got a call asking me to visit their website "get awakening.com". Caller (female) had a heavy accent and loud background noise. Did not go to the website.

Stick it 2011-09-13 00:07:34 Unknown
No, it's $1000 per violation (Not per incident, per violation-- that can extend months!).
Report them, not to the FCC, but the FTC. They need to be run out of business
Stick it 2011-09-12 23:58:51 Unknown
Hey "TRUTH" , we just got a call from these morons. We've been on the DO NOT CALL LIST for months. So, BLOW IT OUT YOUR EAR. These scammers need to get tossed into court, if not behind bars.
Basia 2011-09-07 13:14:52 Unknown
They do not keep a list of people who request to be removed, because there is no list from which they call. The calls are generated randomly. That's how companies get around the law. They don't know who they're calling, so they're "not responsible". In effect you won a lottery. Or lost, in this case ....
Basia 2011-09-07 13:11:01 Unknown
They are able to call numbers even if they are listed on the Do Not Call lisy because they generate the numbers randomly. They didn't "get" your number. More like you won the lottery. Or lost ....
dennis 2011-08-16 19:55:29 Unknown
It is the generate wealth institute .....never heard of them....told them to stop calling ...we'll see
Dennis 2011-08-16 19:52:27 Unknown

I got a call from this number and when I answered some lady started talking in arabic and there were children screaming in the background. I told her she had gotten the wrong number, she apologized and hung up. I haven't gotten a call from that number since.

Received a call and they asked for me by name. When I said "Yes, that would be me," they hung up on me. A quick Google yielded this site.
So far no harm done, but we'll see if they call me again.

Jeff 2011-06-06 20:59:02 Unknown
801-852-8702 - I received a call from this company and they asked for me or my wife (so I knew they didn't know me because I am not married) - then they hung up when I asked who it was.
Kathleen 2011-06-06 20:59:02 Unknown
Ask if I was Kathleen I said yes they hung up the phone

Below is a legal letter I had drafted to stop these companies from this sort of tactic and nuissance calls.
In all probability the calls are coming through call centers from overseas. In all probability the listings they pick up are either from Collection Agents or Telemarketers who believe that the long arm of the law and distance to overseas locations will insulate them from prosecution.
Oh how sadly they are mistaken.
IIf you are being bothered by idiotes like this, first trace the call if possible. If not go on line and look and see if the caller ID is referenced in other notices by other people. In most cases, you can trace a caller for free simply by typing in their number in google or equal and do a search. If you find information that is reasonably clear as to who the offending party is, draft a letter similar to below and slam these jerks. If they fail to comply with this letter you the victim will have them on several counts of fraud and abuse violating several statues. Chances are they will stop under threat of criminal prosecution but if they are stupid, once you document the instances and send them a letter like this you can start the complaint process through the below reference govt and non govt agencies and that trail will cause criminal prosecution as well as your right to execute civil proceedings.
Don't be a victim fight back and use the system to your advantage!!!
TELEMARKETER / COLLECTION AGENCY NOTICE:
This is an attempt to make the Telemarketer/ Dept Collector / Solicitor obey the law. Any information obtained, will be used for that purpose. All of our email & telephonic communications have been monitored by computer, logged and tape recorded for our explicit protection since August 1, 2007.
This will serve as your legal notice under provisions of the federal law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act FDCPA, to cease and desist from all communications with Charles Mandler in regard to the above reference claim. If you believe an alleged claim to be valid, you must tender your claim in written form as outlined in the FDCPA with all provisions and regulations cited.
You are hereby Ordered, to Cease and Desist Immediately or Legal Consequences will Prevail!!!
In the interest to save time, you have not provided the minimum required documents for notification or validation. And therefore, I must renew my request, in accordance with the FDCPA, Statute 1692g, that you validate the claim and provide documented proof. Documented Proof is defined as certified copies of the loan documents, deeds of trust, or other bearing the signature of the debtor in question and copy of the Purchase Contract from the Original Creditor to PO and their affiliates transferring to you by sale full ownership and rights therein as primary creditor of the alleged debt in question. Until these documents have been provided, the FDCPA provides that you shall cease collection efforts of this or any other claim, or any disputed portion thereof, until you obtain proper verification in accordance with the law. That verification must be in writing and the name and address of the original creditor and supporting evidence of the alleged claim must be provided.
According to the FDCPA I have the right to determine the method in which I can be contacted. I have stated to numerous representatives of your firm that I am exercising this right to cease communications with your firm completely.
Please be advised of the following:
Under 18 U.S.C. 875(c), it is a federal crime, punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, to transmit any communication in interstate or foreign commerce containing a threat to injure the person of another. Section 875(c) applies to any communication actually transmitted in interstate or foreign commerce - thus it includes threats transmitted in interstate or foreign commerce via the telephone, e-mail, beepers, or the Internet.
Certain forms of cyber stalking also may be prosecuted under 47 U.S.C. 223. One provision of this statute makes it a federal crime, punishable by up to two years in prison, to use a telephone or telecommunications device to annoy, abuse, harass, or threaten any person at the called number. The statute also requires that the perpetrator not reveal his or her name. See 47 U.S.C. 223(a)(1)(C). Although this statute is broader than 18 U.S.C. 875 -- in that it covers both threats and harassment -- Section 223 applies only to direct communications between the perpetrator and the victim.
Be advised that since I reside in the State of Nevada, you are warned that any contact with a neighbor, third party or other persons will not be considered “locator” information and will be considered grounds for legal action against you and your client.
Please also be advised that you may not contact me by any other means other than, US. Mail.
This is an attempt to resolve a frivolous claim. I simply wish you to cease all communication (fax, phone calls, or other) with me or any member of my household. I do deny any and all attachment to or liability in regards to this claim. You are instructed to just stop contacting me.
By sending this letter it is my intention to stop all EInstitute and their affiliates, referrals and cooperating parties’ telephone calls and abusive telemarketing / collection practices and activity from this day forth.
For Your Reference, Please see the following Excerpt:
§ 809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g]
(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing --
(1) The amount of the debt;
(2) The name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;
(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain validation of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and
(5) a statement that, upon the consumer's written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.
(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.
(c) The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer.
In common language the following will serve as an explanation of the Law,
What does a debt collector need to provide as debt validation?
• Debt Collector must provide proof that the collection company owns the debt/or has been assigned the debt.
• Debt Collector must provide proof of a contract between the alleged debtor and “Original” creditor bearing the debtors signature. In addition, the debt collector must provide, some account statements from the original creditor documenting transaction history.
• Debt Collector must provide copy of the original signed loan agreement or credit card application.
• For verification of the alleged debt in question, the debt collector must provide a complete payment history, starting with the original creditor.
• Debt Collector must provide verification and calculation of the debt. Including a full itemized accounting of the fees/interest that has been tacked on to this debt and an accounting of how the fees were applied under the law.
The requirements noted above were established by the case Fields v. Wilber Law Firm, Donald L. Wilber and Kenneth Wilber, USCA-02-C-0072, 7th Circuit Court, Sept 2004..
For your specific information, the Statute of Limitations on this alleged debt, is over 6 years old, Since the debt is out of the statute of limitations for the State of Nevada, and you are reporting this on my credit report, you are conducting collection activities on Zombie Debt.
I’m sure you are aware of the provisions in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). However, I would like to point out that your firm has violated provisions of the FDCPA by implying that the legal status of the debt is collectible by reporting the alleged debt to the credit bureaus.
For your reference:
[15 USB 1692e]
(2) The false representation of –
(A) The legal status of the alleged debt
And
(B) Any services rendered or compensation which may be lawfully received by any debt collector for the collection of a debt.
At this point in time and given that no Validation has been provided, I am also doubtful that you would have adequate documentation to prove in court that you have the right to report this negative information on my credit report, and therefore you are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as the FDCPA.
Under the FDCPA I have the right by invoking by virtue of this letter and notification therein, my right to ask you to stop contacting me unless you can provide adequate validation of this alleged debt or notification in writing that you are ceasing collection activities.
Please remove my account, contact information or other immediately from your database be it domestic or international or I will have no choice other than to take legal remedies which may include lawsuits and notifying our US Attorney General’s office.
In addition, I’m quite sure your legal staff will agree that non-compliance with this request could put your company in serious legal trouble with the FTC and other State or Federal Agencies. Under the FCRA and the FDCPA, each violation is subject to a $10,000 fine, payable to the prevailing party.
Assuming you will wish to dispose of this matter immediately, please forward to my office immediately in writing proof of retraction of this claim and proof of retraction of reporting this alleged claim with all (4) major (U.S.) domestic credit reporting bureaus as well as all major international bureaus. You have (10) days from receipt of this letter to comply and avoid further legal action and consequences.
Here in fail not!!!
Please give this very important matter the utmost attention.

I understand the feeling everyone is going through on this forum. These people are getting on my last emotional nerve. I told them I am about to file for harrasment if they do not stop calling me.
They have called my cell phone nearly 5/6x and they think their so smart by hanging up people have caller ids these days. I have Verizon and luckily they have a call block feature. Follow up with your phone company to get these buggers off for good.
