Would you happen to know what is changed on the computer? My old mother did fall for it 3 hours ago. No clue what they ask he to change. I had her unplug the internet and call the credit card dept.

Today my daughter got a call from these people saying there was a problem with her windows and wanted $30 to re register her computer. I wouldn't believe them and argued with them for 20 min. A friend did the search on this number and informed me he thought it was a scam. My daughter is now having trouble with her computer and can not get it to come in.

I received a call from 802-375-7466, John Edwards (but he had a heavy indian accent) saying he was from Windows Technical support. He had me fun a cmd from Dos that established that yes, indeed he knew my CCSID and then said I some errors were sent to Microsoft indicating I had a virus on my computer. He wanted me to install some software on my computer so he could fix it. Of course, I wasn't going to allow a total stranger access. What surprised me is that if indeed that CCSID was the serial number or whatever of my computer, how did he get it?

A person identifying himself as Chris Maurice called from this number representing his company as Live Windows Help. He proceeded to take me through some computer error corrections and then tried to sell me a warranty for the service.
When I indicated that I had no interest in purchasing anything, he simply hung up. I called the number he had provided me with (above), and asked him why he hung up. His response was "There was no point in dealing with someone like you". I commented that it was pretty poor customer service for Microsoft (who I had assumed he was calling from) to simply hang up on someone who didn't want to purchase anything without even a "Thank-you for your time and have a nice day" or something to that effect, to which he responded "Did I say I was from Microsoft? No, we are a private company. You don't have any money so there's no point dealing with you."
Beware this company and it's telemarketers!
