SCE&G , SCANA, PSNC are all the same company...their Umbrella is very large. They are an electric, natural gas solar energy company that owns many other small electric energy companies everywhere. They could be calling to let you know you are going to receive a disconnect notice, your power has been restored, there are power outages in your area, payment reminder etc. or an energy survey.

I just received a call from this number. It was a notification from SCE&G letting me know about an electric bill being due. I assume they use the number for all automated notification calls.
For those saying they don't have SCE&G and/or those that live in other areas, perhaps this is the notification line for a general call center or a parent company of multiple electric companies?

Just got a phone call from this number relating to power outages ... and I live in Iowa.  While we're experiencing our first real day of thunderstorms here, I'm not in an area that lost power.  Plus, my electric bill is paid in full ... through a completely separate company!

Left a message at my Georgia number saying that I had to make a decision on energy rates. Don't even have this company as a provider

I got a call from them, they left a message. It was SCE&G saying that "an important message had been mailed" to me.

It's SCE&G they always give you a call when ever you are having electricity or gas turned off or on and it could be a North Carolina number, 803 is columbia sc

I think this is also the number for PSNC (North Carolina)

This is a call from SCEG, the power company throughout much of South Carolina. Your bill may be due!

Got a call from 803-217-6500 early morning on Thursday Oct.14th 2010 they left no message either.  Who are they?  I know SC, but I live on the other side of the country.

Had this number in my missed call list Wed, 10/17/07, at 2:50p.m. Caller left no message.
