I received a call fm this number and the caller was demanding money, wnated to set up a payment over the phone. Well I said I need dates of services, I need to verify the informaiton- she put me on hold for a short period of time and then hung up!!
What a rip off artist, she wanted access to my checking account and was willing to take my money with out an explaination!

Some of the names that may be considered a problem include joseph stevens and associates, commercial investigations, forensic case management, rumson bolling, SDR inc, bradley stein and locke, stuart gold, specialized recovery...probably more.

I have been harrassed by these people all week.  Sometimes they call 2 or 3 times in the hour.  A few minutes ago I told this caller I was reading alot of bad info about them on the internet.  He got hateful and hung up. I hope this ends the calls.

Evil creeps - they just called here and hung up when I asked who they were. No problem - I'm ready for a repeat call.

A man called and demanded to speak to the owner or the controller, regarding  an investigation. I asked if I may help him, and he went into a very pushy telemarketing speech and when I told him I was not interested he became angry and I tried to express to him that he tried to trick me into listening to him because there was not any investigation, but he yelled "DO YOU WANT YOUR MONEY OR WHAT?" I then hung up on him and tried to return his call, so I might speak with a manager, of course no answer. This is clearly a scam. I will find a way to report this. I did look up SDR Inc. online and found that there is a company that does collections however when I called I could not get anybody to speak to.

Same as above, lady asked to speak to owner and I said "how can I help you", she said "are you the owner" and I said yes...she then went into her script about investigations and debt collection which I assume she was trying to solicit for our business, I said "let me stop you right there, we are on the do-not call list and to remove our name/number" she then hung up.

We are a new business only a year old and man do I wish I had a nickel for every sales or fake call we get!!!

I just received a call from this company and they said they needed to speak with an owner or a comptroller regarding an investigation,  I responded I am an owner and she begins to solicit her company as a collection agency.  I explained to her that I was not interested and that I felt her approach to this call was fraudulant and misleading.  Her response "Wow, Your a real b***h!"  Then she hung up.  I tried to call back to speak with a supervisor and the phone just keept ringing.

received a call from 805-498-1180 showed up as SDR Inc on caller ID.  Very rude man said "I need to speak to the owner or controller. It's regarding an investigation, I'll hold."  I said "He's not available right now, can I take a message?"
and I got hung up on.  
Called the number back and no response.

A woman from this number called our office and asked to speak to the owner or controller. She said that are company was being investigated Having been familiar with this call from last time and hearing noises in the background that sound very much like someone calling from a central jail lock-up phone, I told the woman I was familiar with their company and that it was a scam.  She hung up.  The last time I distinctly heard a loud voiec echoing in the background yelling "shut up and sit down now."  My bet is that it's in-mates calling to scam money for themselves, and they have done this.  I used to work at a prison, I know the tricks they use.

A man called today(6/4/2008) and asked to speak to the owner or controller regarding an investigation.  Since I do contribute to running my parents' company, and am used to sales calls, this one didn't sound right, so I handed the phone over to the owner(my dad) and as soon as he answered the phone, they hung up.  Like the others, I called back thinking an investigation sounded strange, and nobody answered.  This has been bugging me all day, so i decided to hop on the net to check it out......these people need to be stopped, and i hope nobody falls for this!!!!!!!!

This number has appeared on my phone nearly everyday for a week now.  I answered the call the first time.  He said he was a commercial investigator and he was calling regarding money owed to a Joey Hoffman who did flooring work for me.  Well, he didn't do flooring work for me.  He is a young man from the area that was referred to me by his handiman Grandfather, Ed Allen who had done some very good work for me.  I had green mold in my attic following frost in the winter. Mr. Hoffman did not know what he was doing.  He proceeded to cut 6 more vents in my soffit and went off and left the holes open for every bird, animal etc to come into.  I fired Mr. Hoffman, stopped payment on the checks I had given him and gave him a check for what I thought was fair.  Somehow this phone number got involved in the collection of what Mr. Hoffman thinks he still has coming.  Sorry, I had no contract with him and I don't pay for shabby work.  Yesterday I received a threatening letter in the mail from Commercial Investigations Inc trying to collect this.  Why someone from central Illinois has to use an agency in California is beyond me.  I am wondering if S.D.R. Inc and Commercial Investigations are one in the same.  The letter came addressed to the wrong city and state but had the correct zipcode. Not very impressive!!

This gentleman called saying out business was under Investigation and that he needed to speak to the owner. I told him he wasn't in, he said needed to speak to the person in charge of overdue account. Which we don't have any at this time when I asked if I could take a message because any other company will leave at least a phone number to be contacted at he simply hung up on me.I did call this number back because it did appear on the caller Id and no one answered which is odd, because if you call a number back from a collection agency they answer.

The people calling and masking the phone number are none other than
Joseph Stephen & Asoosiates,
these people run a debt collection website called http://www.debtinator.net/

They are running phone scams and taking money from people.
they illegally check your credit report and then pick
a random collection and call claiming they are collecting on behalf
of that creditor, and they are lying.  You pay but they never give
the money to the original creditor.  Do not call them
