You know they are scammers when they talk in a heavy Indian accent and then they give you a fake, generic American name like Derek Johnson, Jim Jackson, Steve Smith, John Williams, Joseph Brown, etc.   If they're gonna pretend to be American, they need to lose the retarded Indian accent. It's not fooling anyone.  

I just got a call on my LAN line, which has caller ID. The number was blocked and it said "Private Number". I answered and some guy with a heavy Indian accent said his name was Derek Johnson from some company I couldn't understand. I immediately said to him "You don't sound like your name is Derek Johnson. You sound like your name is Habib Patel."  Then I just hung up. I'm positive it was some scammer going phishing.  

I got a couple calls from this phone number.  I did not recognize the area code so did not pick up.  I looked up the number on line and, based on comments from other people, it appears to be a scam.

I have old them to stop calling me multiple times and thy still call almost every day lookin or someone named Debbie. I don't even know a Debbie and I'm sick of it

So, since these idiots have called multiple times, i thought I'd play along with them and waste there time.  I was on with an Indian accented woman for about 5 minutes while she walked me through "fixing" my computer because "foreign IPs were accessing my computer."  She walked me through a cmd line prompt to look at the services running on my computer and told me that soon the ones running would be stopped and my computer and internet would slow down.  
"Oh no, what do I do to fix it?"
She then wanted me to let her access my computer through logmein123.com.  She gave me a 6 digit code that would allow her access to my computer.  That's when I stopped.  I told her my computer froze and I had to reboot.  I then said that while it was rebooting, smoke started coming out of it and it was getting very hot.  Then it caught fire.  She didn't know how to respond.  I told her that the fire was spreading and that it caught my arm on fire.  "CALL 911, HELP ME!"  Then I hung up.  
Literally 15 seconds later, another different woman called me and started the whole thing over again.  I told her my computer burned up.  Then I called them out on their scam and said I knew what they were doing, stop calling, and if they keep calling, I'll call the FBI.  Hahaha.  Oh, she got mad!  She pretty much was daring me to call them.  I told her to stop calling and hung up.

Just got a call today and he said my network was breached. I knew it was a scam I asked what the company's name he worked for was he "star solutions" keeper trying to get me to press the window's button on my computer. Beware many crooks out there!

I had a call today too from 811-392-6620 but did not answer. Funny because my computer will not download my updates. I went on the apple website to look for help. Did anyone else have a similar experience? Did they hack my computer and then call? I have never had problems with my mac before.

This man with a strong accent randomly called me just now and woke me up telling me that he was a technician and that my computer was in danger because of some important programs that stopped working. He told me to press windows and "r"at the same time, I went through a number of things he told me to do and I was suspicious the whole time asking him questions. Finally he brought me to this page that said "only trust technicians you know" apperatly it was an important sign. Therefore I hung up on him and after that he called me just about 100 times. But I will not answer to him.

the new one is an error showing up with my network via my IP address.  Knowing this was a scam I asked who my network was and they could not answer me.  I told them they were a scam and not to call me again.

these fools are annoying the hell out of me, I asked them to stop calling but to no avail

There is no way these people can tell if your having problems or not. This is a major scam.. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

811-392-6620 called me to fix breach of security on laptop and phone
They have a heavy foreign accent and they keep calling  . They claim they are from network Computer dept

got the same call from this number.  he could verify he was with Microsoft nor give me a 800 Tech support number to call back. He claimed to shut off all microsoft software to and from my home computer. spam! he wanted to call back when I was in front of the computer. he claimed my computer was hacked and date taken and sent to Atlanta GA

I just had a call from 811-392-6620 I'am glad I didn't gave them any info. I you get a call from this number just hang up.

Received call from this number on my cell phone today. Have also received the same type of call on my business landline. After a few minutes of speaking to these people, it became quite obviously they were only after one thing - to try to get into my computer! Also to defraud me if I wasn't smart enough to know that they weren't who they were pretending to be.  They told me they were from "Microsoft help dept". Microsoft told me they would NEVER call a customer, customers have to call in to them.
Needless to say, i filed a police report. Hope this helps someone else from being caught up in a scam.

Just got a call from this # and there was a lady with an indian accent telling me that I had several unwanted IP addresses. I asked her how she got my info and she said it was registered when I bought the laptop. I then asked her what kind of laptop I had and she responded microsoft....I have a Mac, so I hung up. She called back and I told her I looked up the # and knew it was some kind of scam, then she hung up on me.

I've been getting this number on my cell phone caller I.D. I never answered but I tried calling from a land line. In NY, 811 is the number to call when you're digging to make sure you don't hit gas or water lines so I looked up here and I thank all who posted. Now I definitely won't bother answering when they call again!

Obvious scam call with India accent, said my computer is infected. Then I said "OMG" what should I do?

THEY SAY THEY ARE FROM MICROSOFT AND ARE CALLING TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A VIRUS ON YOUR COMPUTER.  TOTALLY FALSE!!!!!  DONT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFO OR LET THEM HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.  ITS TOTAL SCAM TO GET YOUR MONEY! THEY ARE RELENTLESS AND KEEP CALLING.  

Answered because i am waiting for a call for a job interview.  After a few seconds of silence a woman with some thick accent started talking about my computers security having errors?  She asked me to turn my computer on, but i told her i wasn't home.  She said she'd call back.

This # 811-392-6620 and this #212-414-155 have both called me claiming to be from HP and that i had Internal problems and that I needed to turn my computer on right away, I told them both to quite calling, the 212-414-155 called 19 times yesterday so i finally told them that i turned them into the FBI fraud department, Now today Im getting calls from a women stating the same thing gr gr

Just got a call with someone with a very, very thick accent.  He said someone had been illegally using my computer for over 15 days.  I told him I didn't have a computer.  He said the same thing was happening on my phone.  I asked him how.  He didn't have an answer.  I asked to talk to his supervisor and asked what company he was with.  He said he WAS the supervisor and the company was Internet Fraud company.  I told him to change the name to "Total Scam Company".  He said it was a real threat and not a scam.  I asked him how much it was going to cost to fix it.  He said he'd take my credit card information over the phone and fix it for $290.00 USD.  I told him I didn't have a credit card.  He again said he needed to fix my computer and to go to my computer right away.  I again told him I didn't have a computer.  He said if I had a phone number that meant I have a computer.  I told him to give me HIS number and I'd call him back.  He said he couldn't do that.  I said that I didn't have internet service on my phone, I didn't have a computer, and I didn't have a credit card.  He said I could send him the money Western Union.  I told him that he had to send ME money first to show that it was a real company.  He hung up.  That one was kind of fun!

Received a call from 811 392 6620. I don't answer calls I don't know. No voice message left. I get calls from this number daily. Just placed on my reject call list with the phone company, hope the calling stops.
