******SCAM ALERT*******
Received a text message asking to contact this number. Text message states
"18138620446@inbox.com/ / You have a new security message. Call now toll. free: 1 813 862 0446 to hear it."
When you call the number (I called from a secured location), is a voicemail that is an automated system stating someone is attempting to access your account info from india. asks you to hit # to continue. Then asks you to input your 16 digit credit card info.
I terminated the call at this point.
No specific bank/card provider is mentioned. I strongly reccomend against anyone inputing their credit information, I believe this is a credit scam. I will be reporting it asap along with trace info.

Received the same message. T-Mobile customer in Illinois. Didn't hit the pound sign to verify anything. They're going into the garbage can and reported to T-Mobile.

Yep, I'm a T-mobile customer in IL too and I just received one of those messages on Thursday (8/27). I did not pay attention to it until today when I logged on to my chase credit card account and noticed a $1.00 Redbox charge (from 8/27)which looks legit but I don't remember renting any DVDs in the past three weeks !?!

I received a suspicious text on 8/27/2009 @ 4:18 PM:
18138620446@read.com / / You have a new security message . Call now toll. free : 1 813 862
0446 to hear it .
I ignored the message until I was able do an online search, figuring it's probably a scam.

I too am in a Chicago suburb. Got 2 T-Mobile messages today, one yesterday. A T-Mobile rep said there was no way they could stop it at this time...that they're working on spam filtering that's not in place yet (hmmmm).

Also an IL T-Mobile customer. Forwarded SMS message as email to abuse@tmobile.net, spam@uce.gov (Federal Trade Commission), abuse@(whatever ISP).com, then sent STOP SMS message to 3661
Got the same message from a different "ISP" yesterday, but did not send to TMO abuse.

I recieved this message on my T Mobile Cell Phone. Called T-Mobile and they advised it was probably a Scam as they have no record of any "security message" on my account. Since when is 813 a toll free number???!!!
Alex 2011-06-06 20:59:28 Unknown
Called both my bank and T-Mobile to make sure no recent activity was on my accs. Both verified no activity. Seems T-Mobile customers are mostly getting the text msg...BEWARE!!!
Silvia 2011-06-06 20:59:28 Unknown
I got one too. Thanks for the heads up!!
elayne 2011-06-06 20:59:28 Unknown
I received two text messages today I called my cell phone company and they can not trace the call because it is coming from a computer. What a dumb crook though most people have more than one card not to mention the toll free number is not toll free and is coming form a landline in fl.
Melissa 2011-06-06 20:59:28 Unknown
I just got one to! that for the information I will surely ignore it.
eric 2011-06-06 20:59:28 Unknown
