Correction the company is named L&J Holdings Inc., and is well known for making unwanted telemarketing calls. Better Business Bureau looked into it and the company refused to respond. These people need to be brought down. Since they are apparently located in Florida they are not a moving target and so theoretically it won't be a game of whack a mole before they get shut down.

You are full of s*** as well as uninformed. You can be sued for doing this, I have an employee of yours recorded telling me you were a non profit, which you are not, you are an LLC. I looked it up while the idiot was still on the phone. That is flat out fraud. Violations of the registry laws are not the only violation of law you are committing. your "Survey" is also a bunch of b***s***. You have a concealed agenda. I represent myself, and have done so successfully on many occasions. I can give you a handful of docket numbers. I can, and will, cost you a bucketload of money by the time I'm done.

They sell bid lists to contractors for Federal Government Opportunities/Bids. We will never ever do business with the Federal Government again! Talk about fraud, waste, and abuse. The Pakistani Embassy in Karachi ordered 6 Gelato Machines from us this during our war over there. I felt guilty filling the order as taxpayers $$ was used to purchase them.

I used to always get a telemarketer call; until I got on the Nat'l Do Not Call List.  Now I hardly ever get a call from anyone.s
I always sign up on the DNC list for any numbers I have.  Been working for me for several years now.

Different Folks; Different Strokes.  Just cause it doesnt work for you doesnt mean the Gov't is not doing something.

Just saying.

Pffffft is an idiot.  Plain to see.  You sir are the Jerk of all the Offs.

When are you people gonna use your brain?

Scammers do not care about the Do Not Call List.  You are crazy if you think most of these calls are not scams or phishing calls of some sort.

There are some legit calls that come through but they are usually the police or political looking for donations or a survey.

I agree that the DNC list needs stricter guidelines.
Also, I agree that the government is not up to par with what they should be doing.  But things could be worse.

Lets face it.  This is how things have been for a while and probably will be until someone can be traced.

But you people that think the DNC list is a joke.....well that's your opinion.  Some people have it worse than others.

It can depend on how much exposure your number has on the internet too.  Facebook, instagram, twitter, other public sites.  There are programs that search the internet for phone numbers.  Then they robo call these numbers.  When you pick up, it transfer you to an operator.  This is how some scammers work.  Others just randomly dial numbers down a list.  you call 10,000 numbers in day.....all you need is one sucker.

Bottom line.  Dont answer any call you do not recognize.   Do not let your answering machine pick up.  That counts as an answer and your number gets marked as active.  Do not call them back.

If it is a legit company, they can mail you contact info.  If it is legit company, their name will pop up on your id or on your cell phone, after the number calls you......google it.  If you see they might be legit, answer next time.

It's sad things have to be done sometimes like this.  Also, take all your phone numbers off of any social or public site.  I have done this, and now I might get 1 call a week from some people.  I have gotten two calls in last 3-4 days from this number.  I do not get the calls I use too though.  It was 2-3 a day every day.  sometimes more.  I reduced my exposure and over the course of a year, stopped getting alot of the calls.

Problem:  Telemarketing is not going away anytime soon in fact it is getting worse and is troubling at best to try to stop.

Solution:  When I get a strange call / number (and I get a few per day) I throw it to VM (2 second operation) if it's important they can leave a message.

Whining, blogging and trying to chase down VOIP calls burns daylight.

This number has called me at least 10 times. I don't recall ever answering. I'm guessing they got my number when I signed up online to receive info or apply for loans (big mistake), as did countless other junk callers.

Francis you are funny and you nailed them.  They are not really any kind of company and seem to operate out of an apartment.  When in the mood I ask the same type of questions.  The odd part is
these guys keep calling with the same line of crap.  I did a little BBB research and they have the worst
credit I have ever seen.  Their rating is F.   Let's see where is that soft ball bat?  He seems to have
a bunch of addresses and phone numbers -- who does that?

1-813-899-2012  L J Bay Area Holdings out of Flordia.  I have no idea what they are selling but when I
spoke to them a month ago they started right in on personal questions.  I was more than rude, but they
are back.  They seem to call about once or twice a month but hang up when the machine answers.
I know they peddle information, if you give them any, and either sell or give that info to others.  Delete!!!

When first offered the job many of us were not informed that we would be calling people who were unaware of the surveys we were conducting. At some point or another the person receiving the calls had to have distributed their number to a company that we get our numbers from. The survey isn't a "scam". You don't have to engage in any sort of conversation if you don't want to. Simply say that you would like to be taken off the list. That's it. Immediately the person will add you to the company's do not call list. The company wants people who are actually interested in doing the surveys. If you're not interested don't sit there and yell at the person or hang up. If the person we are calling "hangs up" we click a button on the program called "delete". If your number happens to be on another list, it will be called again. Better to be safe than sorry, just asked to be taken off the list. We don't intentionally call people to annoy them.  All of the calls are monitored and recorded as well.

You'd think that, with 51 pages of complaints here and an F rating with the BBB, this # would have been shut down by now. L&J is a telemarketing company and asking them to remove you does no good.  They don't even respond to BBB requests.  http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... mpa-fl-90046512#

5 minutes tops (depending on how much you write) to file a complaint on the DNC web site.  Nothing can be done if there are no complaints filed.  So file a complaint AND block their calls if you can.

Get yourself a Panasonic KX-TG6672B DECT 6.0 Corded/Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System.  Using this phone system you can block callers that you don't want to receive calls from.
They call uninvited, you can block future calls.
Easy to use, worth the money, and it works.

1-813-899-2612 bay area holdings -- what ever that is.  Have not heard from them for several months.
In 2010 they called and started right in asking questions -- click & delete.  Their MO seems to be gathering information for others.  I think they fall under:  tel-pests.

L&J Bay Area Holdings has been attracting complaints for a long time for ostensibly conducting surveys, not covered by the Telemarketing Sales Rule. However, prior comments suggest the surveys are warmups for future telemarketing, which would strip their exemption from TSR, DNCR, et al.

Quoting the FTC about DNC compliance:
"... purported survey calls are not exempt if they are also part of a plan, program or campaign to induce purchases of goods or services."

It's a "Do Not Call" list, not a "Do Not Sell" list. A cold sales call to a registered number violates the Telemarketing Sales Rule even if no content is communicated. That's how one racks up a per-call TCPA damage award without answering every call, by establishing that *some* calls in a series are violative.
