I received a similar call.  They were friendly and tried half-heartily to get information about our situation.  I did not offer specific or personal details, but enough information to understand their product.   I exited by stating that I needed to discuss the product with my wife.

I spoke to a representative from a First American Bank - claiming they wanted to help lower our payments - but their computer cut them off mid discussion.

I have gotten phone calls, too. Caller ID says "First American".

James, if they are a legitimate company, they should honor our requests that they DO NOT CALL US!  Rude responses from a telemarketer are the first sign of a scam, and these guys are definitely a SCAM.   It's obvious that your post is a plant.

I recently recieved a phone call for 815-676-5157 so I did some reserch
on the Internet checking if this was a scam so I look up the up on the obre website

scam. Since i work for a Voip company I know that you can be in any city in illinois and have any area
code you want accept 847 because there just not available for business right now. I just thought this was
my duty to write this because my loan with them went very smooth. They are also an Approved hud lender

They call every day. I don't answer.

We got a call on our machine from "Ms Jennings at 1st American Funding" who asked us to call her back at that number regarding our mortgage.  Didn't sound right.  Glad I looked for scam info online.

got a call at 2:40pm on 1/26/2011.  some guy named joe claiming to be with a mortgage company in schaumburg (why is he calling from an 815 area code then?) asking if i would like to refinance.

Answered but no response....disconnected.

Called numerous times asking for my husband only.

This company telemarketed me about a mortgage, so I assumed it was a total scam!  I checked them out on FHA's website (FHA.gov) and firstamericanfun.com and they seem legit.  They said NO application fee and they would let me know in 24 hours if I can refinance.  I called my bank Chase after I got off the phone with the lady, and they were asking for 400 bucks to redo my loan, and weren't even sure they could!  I have been paying on my mortgage for 7 years!  I called this lady back, and gave her the info she needed to get me approved.  I will repost immediately if they are full of crap!

Called our house phone, but did not respond when we picked up.

Got a call from them today. John said he was with First American Funding. Mortgage refinancing
They do ask a lot of personal questions when all you want is a current rate. I didn't give any.

An older woman named Adrienne just called and asked for my wife by name asking if we knew that mortgage rates were at an all time low and if we had a mortgage. told her that we do not disuss info like this over the phone especially with someone we don't know and without the company being identified.  Will report this to the do not call list.

Got a call today on my cell (also listed on donotcall lists both Fed and MN), when I answered there was no response, then hangup.

ya its a total boiler room op i asked them some standard stuff license info, call center location, who was there finance company what was the finance companies address all things they didnt have an answer too. They kept hanging up on me so i called back on 10 phones and auto dialed the number for a  hour having fun till they gave me the info. its definetly a identity theft ring cause they want the usual social security #, maiden name, DOB, etc.

I got another call from them this morning.  I answered and no one was there.  I blocked my number and called it back.  It's from a company call First American.  I filed another complaint with http://www.donotcall.gov,

I did not answer the call on my land line and seconds later a call on my cell from the same #.

Keep getting calls from this number and when I answer there is noone there, then it hangs up.

This is the second call I got from them.  The first time (in April) I answered the phone - they wanted to know if we'd be interested in re-financing our home.  I told them no.  They just called again a few minutes ago and I didn't answer.  I reported them at www.donotcall.gov instead!

Threatened them after 14 calls and they took offense to me threatening them. They are a couple con men. Joe & Chris, It sounds like the same guy.  Filed complaint with do not call list.gov. We will see if that does anything

I've received several calls from this number.  No message so I did not call the number.  Interesting since it's my cell phone and it's registered on the do not call list.

I just got mine on April 20th.  Didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  I just called it from my work line and it was a company that wanted to know if I wanted to refinance.
