Obvious scam based on the number with an area code and all zeros. Earlier comments from years ago said it was Countrywide mortgages. Nothing has been posted since 2011.
My Optimum records show the call was from Japan. It seems a new scammer has picked up the number. Since I don't answer unrecognized callers there's no way to know what the new scam is.

This was a courtesy call from the Fort Worth Star Telegram reminding me that my subscription was due for payment.

This is Countrywide Home Loans...I submitted a request for information on their website and this number called my cell phone a few minutes later.  I ignored that call because all zeros was sketchy to me, but they then called my home phone.  My husband answered it, and it was Countrywide asking for me to discuss the loan I had requested.

this numbers keep calling my land line nothing when you anwer it and never leaves a message.  This bugs me...............I do not even answer my land line because the only one who calls me on it are  organization asking for money or political organization.  The only reason I have a land line is for my connection to the internet.  Stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!

just posted a complaint regarding a Countrywide office in Sedona/Flagstaff and as soon as I submitted the letter to Contrywide Headquarters, my phone rang with this number. It has to be Countrywide. I also have a Do Not Call  number, so now I will file a complaint with the National Do Not Call agency. I suggest you do the same.

Got 5 calls from this number at home, phone only rang twice the first 4 times. The 5th call went to my voicemail, but they hung up. ID comes up as "name unknown".

They call but when you answer, they hang up. They have been calling a couple of times a day every other day.

I just received a call from this number.  I recently contacted Countrywide online asking for a quote on a mortgage.  This call was in response to that request.  This is confirmed by the fact that a message was left by a man who identified himself as being a representative of Countrywide immediately after the call was placed.

817-000-0000 is the improper number being sent by the PBX system at BAC Home Loans (formerly Countrywide). If caller ID shows that number, very likely it is your mortgage company trying to call to service your account. Even if you are on the DNC list, if you actually have a mortgage that was originally through Countrywide (or one of its subsidiaries), your mortgage is now being serviced by Bank of America thorugh BAC Home Loans.

I also submitted a request from Countrywide's website. Every day since then I receive a call from this number (almost 2 weeks now) and it always disconnects when I answer. No message was ever left when I missed the call either.

HE SAID IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH REFINANCING.......WE HAVE ''NO'' BUSINESS WITH ANY FINANCE COMPANY. WHEN I ANSWERED THE 'PHONE, HE STATED HIS NAME AND THE 'NAME OF THE COMPANY' FROM WHICH HE WAS CALLING SO FAST, THAT 'NO ONE' COULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD IT. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD CALL BACK ONE DAY NEXT WEEK!!
