As far as I can tell, these are all the same company.  Allied Acceptance:  AKA Asset Acceptance, AKA Apollo Group, AKA First National Collection Bureau, AKA Midland Credit...who knows what other names & phone numbers they are using. So far area codes are: 845, 425 & 775. They buy very old, uncollectible debt, paid or not, & hound you with threats to ruin your credit, sue you, etc., but refuse to provide proof or stop the harassment no matter what action you take to stop them.  More than one representative has admitted to me that they know they're breaking the law.  Why isn't there a law to force them to prove to the credit reporting agencies that the debt is legitimate before they can add it to your credit report.  I've wasted more time trying to clean up my credit after the insane, unwarranted, illegal, vicious damage they've done. They even have the nerve to add it to your credit report if your name just sounds similar to the person who actually owns the debt. The best advise I can give is DON'T EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE, don't speak to them, DON'T ADMIT ANYTHING (THEY CAN START THE SOL CLOCK AGAIN),don't even have your name on your answering machine. Once they connect your name with your number, it snowballs out of control from one agency to several. Good luck, you'll need it.

I have never heard this persons name (.....  .......) and have had this phone number for 10 years.

It requested a call back from this person.

They leave no message when the answering machine picks up.

I know noone in New York so why does this NY # call me?  I dont answer ANY calls from unidentified callers for security reasons.

Callled on a debt which is probably 12 to 13 years old. After hearing message and looking at the caller ID I did not answer the phone.

Boy these calls are annoying. You think you are doing these collectors a favor by calling them back and telling them they have the wrong number on file. called today. i answered out of reflex. thought it was a wrong number when the girl asked for someone who doesn't live here. i told her that and she rudely hung up. then i Googled the #. doubtless these people are working with old phone numbers from people who owe somebody something. as long as it's not you, it's harmless but annoying. screen calls (i.e., do not answer them) is all you can do if they're exempt from the DNC.

The person who called refused to identify herself other than say her name is "Kelly"...then she told me she couldn't identify any further information unless I verified my social security number...yeah right! I hung up.

ya. was asset acceptance bill collectors. They are retards.  were calling for somebody that owned my phone number years ago.  funny thing is that i have a cease and desists against them.  I should just file complaint with attorney generals office just for the principle of it.

I get calls from this number. I didn't answer, because I didn't recognize the number, or the name that came on the caller ID, which is AACC. I googled the number, to try and find out who they are. I have never answered, but they call every so often. They never leave a message.

This is a Collection agency, plain & simple. (So the "Do not call registry" doesnt apply to them).
These guys buy up VERY OLD debts that are getting ready to expire from records & statutes of Limitations. If they find out it's infact you, they can restart the SOL Clock again and then they will not give up harrassing you. RECOMMENDATION: Screen your calls, Dont answer to strangers, and for gods sake, take the "HI IT'S ME STEVE, LEAVE ME A MESSAGE" (or whatever)message off your machine!!!

I received a phone message that  said I'm Mickey Hart Debt collector and to call this number. 1-866-580-4816. Caller ID was from  AACC. I have no outstanding debts. I did not call this number. I looked up the number on the caller ID From: AACC (18455121599) and looked it up on the internet and found this site. There are so many scams out there these days I'm afraid to open e-mails or sometimes to even answer my phone unless I know the number.
I wish these people could be caught and put in jail where they belong.

I just got this call (8455121599)...did not answer but they left no message. I looked it up and saw this!!!! Crazy! I am glad I read this before I called back. This is horrible.

Caller calls my cell phone but does not leave any type of message.  After reading about other, I won't answer these calls.

Received multiple calls from this number at my home, my mother's house, and now at work. They leave very vague messages but say usually "This is a personal matter but of extreme urgency", then leave that number to call back to.

I have settled all my debt from past problems so I don't even know what this is about but when I called them to find out they flat out refused to tell me the source of the debt.

This company is criminal and should be prosecuted or investigated.

It is the bottom feeders of collectors.  They are collecting on ddebt which has already been removed from your credit history.  Do not worry, this debt is not valid, but I think they can call. . .
