It's a fraud - this isn't the bank calling, it's a phishing scam.
Alex 2013-03-25 19:20:21 Unknown
My situation exactly like yours - with smaller numbers. Eight more people unemployed. Thankfully I made it to social security!

It is Chase Bank

Received this call for an employee, said it was Chase Card Services. Saw the comments here, so I told him we don't allow personal calls. I'll let the employee know, and tell him to call the number on the back of his Chase card, if he has one, just in case.

I do have multiple chase accounts and NONE of them are late. I've tried to call back because I've been at work every time that they have called me and they don't leave messages either.
Felipe 2012-09-17 13:12:01 Unknown
I've recieved tons of calls over the last week or so. I just put them on my block call list on my phone.
Re 2012-08-28 00:25:10 Unknown
This number has called me everyday. They say they are from chase and my account is past due... I have two chase cards, and both have NEVER been past due. I went into a chase bank, and they said my accounts were current and Chase Card Services HAD been calling me but they weren't sure why. Chase bank said they would stop calling me. Low and behold, this morning I received another call from this number regarding my "past due chase credit card." I stopped answering the calls, and they never leave a message.
K. Carr 2012-08-25 13:40:11 Unknown
This is a call that never answers. It calls at the exact same time everyday.
Scam Hater 2012-08-21 13:04:30 Unknown
They are trying to get your personal information. This particular number has been Scamming people for YEARS. Do not answer the call or if you do, tell them politely that you have to let them know that you are recording the call. Block this number so that is does not ring on your phone.
Ryan 2012-08-13 19:19:46 Unknown
It's Chase. Learn you facts before posting incorrect information. This is chase bank, i have a visa debit card with them, no questions asked. It's one thing if you want to deny your debt, but don't lead others astray just because you don't want to take credit for your debt! Chase customer service will often times say this is not their number, but those reps have no clue. call the number and talk to them, it's Chase. They can even send you a certified letter in the mail saying that the number is indeed Chase trying to collect a debt.
You are wrong Quinnie, this number is Chase.

Got this call maybe five minutes ago. Took me about 60 seconds to log into my Verizon account and add them to my list of blocked calls. *washes hands of it* Good luck, Chase. Judgement/execution proof here.
They didn't get me!!! 2012-08-04 19:25:07 Unknown
I got the same call today also!!! The caller was telling me they didn't receive the July payment which I knew was false (plus they asked for me using my married name and this account is under my maiden name) because the payments come direct payment straight out of my checking account and the July payment was on my bank statement!! I ended up hanging up on the caller after I told him that they were wrong about not receiving my July payment! I called Chase myself and they confirmed that this was definitely a scam!!!

I have received 3 calls from this number on my cell phone today. when I answered the first time, the call was disconnected. I did not answer the next two calls. I don't have any accounts with Chase and I have never given my cell phone number to any business of any type, not even my doctor's office. I do not have any accounts that are past due or in collections -

Chase advised me it was not a number affiliated with them and to file a fraudulent claim on their website so they can look into it. I was not paying particular attention to the dates as I do not use sites like this very often; my post was meant to pass along information I received in an effort to help others not insight snide comments from an illiterate like you. By all means please do go ahead and give out whatever information those nice people calling want the joke will be on you
Ha ha ha 2012-04-15 17:08:55 Unknown
Well Quinnie this is not Chase it's the collection agency that handles late accounts if you really believed that this is a scam then why not post your message after an April one instead of one from 2007. You know that payments are not shown as received until at least 3 days after a payment. Nice try.
Quinnie 2012-04-15 16:56:15 Unknown
This is not a legitimate call and it is not Chase. Whoever submitted the post that some people have adapted the ability to "fake" caller ID's is 100% correct. When I answered this call the person seemed to have some information about an account I have. It was actually a little scary. The person was telling me my account was past due and wanted me to make a payment over the phone. I told him that I never do that and I would contact Chase to discuss further. Not only was my account up-to-date (I knew that because I had just made a payment), but Chase confirmed this number does not belong to them. I immediately completed an on-line form to make them aware of this fraudulent activity. I would recommend to anyone receiving ANY calls of this type to check with your respective credit card companies to determine if it is valid or not. Do not give out any information. Once I determine a phone number is not valid, I black list on my cell phone so no one can leave a message and I block the number on my home phone through optimum.
I hope folks reading this find it helpful.
hmmm 2012-04-01 14:37:50 Unknown
I have no idea whether or not this is really Chase or one of their collection agents. This number has been added to my phone's address book under SCAM so I don't bother picking up and they don't bother leaving any messages. That hasn't stopped them from calling every day -- including Sundays!
By the way, I do have accounts with Chase that ARE current, and I always double-check them to make sure there are no fraudulent purchases.

We keep receiving calls from 847-488-6100...they say they are "card services" you have to wait for someone to come on the phone and then they ask you to give them your credit card number...when pressed as to who they are they say they are from Chase, and they do not know the reason for the call until you give them your credit card number. I am reporting this to Chase.

To call before 8am is illegal contact your state AG and report them

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

this number is bogus....i have been with Chase for over twenty years. they will never send you an email that way. just call the number on the back of your card and take it from there.

I know there are a lot of posts saying this is a scam, but the call I got appeared to be legitimately from Chase Fraud Detection Services (I do have a Chase credit card). They left a message saying they had detected suspicious activity on my account and asked me to call back with my account information handy.
This seemed a little shady, so just to be safe I contacted Chase via a secure message through their online banking system (the full response I got is below). Just to be safe, I called them back at the general customer service number in the email, and not the number I received the initial call from. This is the response I got:
Dear [name],
I am writing in response to your email regarding the
telephone number inquiry on your Chase Sapphire card
account.
I would like to assure you that 847 488 6100 is a Chase
customer service number. A review of your account on
03/12/2012 indicated the usage pattern changed in a way
that suggested possible fraudulent use. When this
occurred, an attempt was made to reach you to verify the
activity in question. Since we were unable to reach you,
security measures called for a hold to be placed on your
account until the matter was resolved. We will attempt to
contact you by phone, email, or letter so it is important
to ensure the contact information listed on file is
current.
Fraudulent use can cause a high level of frustration for
cardmembers. Security measures like these prevent a great
deal of fraudulent activity on our cardmembers? accounts.
I apologize if these security measures caused you any
inconvenience.
In order to assist with your inquiry, please contact
Customer Service at the number listed below and one of my
colleagues will be able to assist you.
From outside the U.S. please call us collect at (302)
594-8200. To obtain dialing instructions for making a
collect call, from your current international location,
please contact the Long Distance Provider of your choice.
If you have any further questions, please reply using the

Yes, this is Chase, I have a BP card and the interest is OUTRAGEOUS. Do NOT fall behind on your Chase BP card. Their online service SUCKS as well, I have tried and spoken to about 5-6 different people trying to get my online account established so I can pay that way untill I finally just gave up - Chase cards are NOT customer friendly. Ironically, I have never had a problem with my other 3 credit cards. I am trying to pay this one off and cut it up for good.
