I called the number back and they answered "Chase Card Services, may I have your account number please?" to which I replied "No." I asked her to confirm she was from Chase, then hung up and called the number on the back of my card. My Chase account has been closed for almost 3years but I am on a payment plan, which I know I have to renew in August. However the rep I talked to when I called the toll free number said they would never ask for my account number. So I don't know if this was legit or not - some here say it is, some say it's not. I am wary of just giving out my account number. I am going to call back in about a month to arrange for another few months of payments until I am paid off. They really shouldn't do it this way, it seems like a scam from someone posing as Chase.

I was very wary of this as well. I called the number back to ask them to stop calling. With just my name and phone number they identified two accounts that I have with Chase, and wanted to set up continued automatic payments on the accounts. They did not ask for any other information, it was already on file. Since then I have received confirmation letters from Chase that my payments have been set up for the next year. Payments have also been reflected in my online account. The number is legitimate.

Called back and told them I don't have a Chase card. Turns out they had my number listed for a different person. Told them I was not that person and did not know that person. They said they would remove my number. Very pleasant to deal with.

This is Chase Bank. If you have automatic payments set up, they will call back to ensure they do not lapse. The man was friendly and helpful.

They are a fake! Do Not give them any info they want your name and credit card #. Chase does not ask you for your full # and name and telephone #.

I am really annoyed that they call straight up 8 a.m. every morning. Aren't businesses supposed to wait until 9:00 am?
Anyway, I found out through my Chase Bank directly that this is not a number for them so I am blocking it from my phone.
What is the world coming to?? You can't even answer the phone anymore without being harassed, scammed and other wise abused.

Yep - this call back to the Chase Help Desk -- they just wanted to remind me that my automatic payments would expire next month - and wanted to go ahead and get the OK to continue for another year. I did receive a letter in the mail to remind me to do this.... however - the procrastinater that I am - I never took care of it. I was actually glad they called. =)

The number is the land line to Chase Proactive Solutions, A division of Chase Card Services. See link below...
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/chase_proactive_solutions.html
If you have a Chase Card, even if you are not deliquent, they may be notifiying you of a change in your monthly payments (the payment could double) or a change in interest rates. Many people have Chase cards that use to be WaMu, Circuit City, Pier One Imports, etc. You can also negotiate with them to pay off the card via an installment loan. You can use the numbers below to verify the person that is randomly calling from the land line...

The phone numbers to dial are 1-800-404-6220 and 1-877-890-2941. Be sure to always ask for the unit. While it is likely that they may not offer the same debt solutions to everyone, people should at least spend the time to call them and see if they can receive help with paying their credit card debts.

It is not from a debt collector or a sales call. This is a group with Chase Card Services. They call proactively to prevent any automatic paymet arrangements you already have with them from lapsing. He asked for my credit card number or my social and I declined. However, he was able to look up my acocunt information using my telephone number and we moved on from there. They were friendly, helpful and were just trying to keep me from incurring late fees when the autodraft authorization ran out.

They said it was Chase Card services and wanted my credit card info. Decided to hang up and give the number on the back of my credit card a call only to find out that the 847 number is not an authorized number from Chase.
Good thing I didnt give my credit card info. Be careful.

This number belongs to Chase Card services, and it is their billing department. They didn't leave a message but were extremely helpful and polite when I called the number back.

Reverse id says Ameritech Illinois. According to Wikipedia, Ameritech is a subsidiary of AT&T. Weird though, because I don't have any outstanding bills with them. I would call back if they left a message, but calling so often and so early in the morning without leaving a message is just rude. I'm ignoring them out of spite.
