i workeddd here there office number is 8477605001 they are a hugeeee scam like 5% goes to the charityy call the policee get them removed they are also located on weld road befor the bowling ally very discreet office by the barber shop

 Received call, caller said they were TAI calling for some
 charity (think he said Firefighters), told him "not interested"
 (since charities get little of proceeds thru telemarketers).

 would swear it was same guy as just 13 minutes before.

 1st problem - when I asked why they were calling me a second
 time that same day, he denied it was them and he claimed it was
 only the first time they were calling my #.

 2nd problem - when I told him to take my name and # off their
 call list, he argued back something to the effect of "Don't you
 care about Firefighters?".  I re-requested that they take my name
 and # off their call list, and finally got him grudgingly to go
 along.

I originally wasn't going to follow-up but, after seeing all this, I'm thinking I should pass info along to Illinois A/G office.

As to 4/10 post from Susan - unfortunately "Do Not Call" carved out a number of exceptions, including those for charities, so unfortunately some of this nuisance is entirely legal.  DNC would've been much better if we, the subscribers to telephone services, could decide individually which categories of calls we're willing to accept.

Same thing... they call every 1/2hr and everytime we answer they hang up and when you call back it says "sorry, this number is not in service"

"Who are this..."  WOW!

It rang and when I picked up the caller said my father's first name, with a rising inflection like they were asking if it was him who answered. Took me aback because he died over 20 years ago. I thought this must be some very old friend who didn't know. I said no this is his daughter and they hung up. This number was displayed on my cell after the call. Glad to find this page because now I realize they probably just got Dad's name from a phonebook or someplace still listing him for this number and are not a long lost old old friend who got disconnected after reaching us.

I see the number on the caller id but they never leave a message.

this is a very annoyingphone caller.  they call and hang up or says something and then says thank you.

My ex-husband (divorced for 3 years now) informed me that some guy called me at his home phone requesting me. We did live in this area a handful of years ago but I never made any male friends while living there. I guess this is some type of scam going on here.

I've been getting a lot of calls lately from the 847 prefix.  I answer the phone with my speakerphone button, hit the mute button and wait.  I can hear people in the background like its a call center or something.  This last guy just ended up yelling my name into the phone.  I also called back and it says the number is out of service.  Freaks me out.  Is there a way to track these people down?  I'd like to start placing 100s of annonymous calls to their family so they can see how obnoxious and unwelcoming it is.

Man called today and asked for my wife. I said she is not availabe, can I help you. They guy asks for me, and I said, "how can I help you?"  He then just hung up! very wierd!!!

received a call from 847 760 5164 asked for the head of the household (referred to him by name) as soon as I said "uh no he's not..." they hung up.

this lady calls, caller I.D.  says unavailable call, we pick up, there's a pause, she says hello than the phone goes dead, we try and call the number back and the automated operator says the number you have reached is not in service, it's an obvious scam of some sort, I did report it to the local police but it's not really at the top of their list investigate but they did say they would come out and make a report
