Let me encourage everyone to continue to call the Federal Trades Commission at 1 877 382 4357 and file complaints on this and other phone numbers. If you haven't already done so, be sure you are on the state and federal No Call List.

I don't understand why these people are allowed to harass numbers listed on the do not call registry.

The "Do Not Call" list is no help. These people are just criminals.  But I have a phone blocker, so at least the same one won't bug me twice.

Repeatedly called me with same scam about reducing credit card rates. I asked who they were without a valid response. I told him he may as well stop calling because nobody at my address was stupid enough to fall for his scam. He then started into calling me a "punk-a** white boy".  He was laughable with his comments. Don't even bother trying to reason with these useless idiots.

I pressed 1 for Live Operator.

Identified themselves as Card Member Services.  

I asked Card Member Services for whom?  They answered all Visa & MasterCard Card Holders.

I asked why I was called, as I am on Do Not Call Registry.  
Please place me on your do not call list.

Phone number not taking incoming calls when I called back.

I got a call from this number today, and I did not pick up.  It stopped ringing after about 3 rings...I guess they don't want to go to voicemail.  I have no idea who it is, since it came through as Unknown Name.  I never pick up those kinds of calls. If it was something important, it would not be blocked, or they would leave voicemail.  
Whenever I see Unknown Name on the Caller ID, I ignore it.  I hope they don't keep calling. That is really a pain.

So says the scammer from Account card Services when asking who was calling so I could complain to the FTC.
The DO NOT CALL registry doesn't work as scammers rountinely ignore it.

I get calls like this all of the time.... I go through the process to get to a live human and as soon as I hear their voice I repeatedly press a key on my phone until they hang up....... if they are using a headset it really blows their hearing for a few minutes..... I do it every time.......

They call several times each week and have been doing this for months!  These a***oles need to be stopped. The next time I visit the Jersey Shore I may pay them a visit.  I can find the exact address easily.

Got a call this afternoon from this #. NO msg on V/M. AFTER READING THE OTHER POSTS, GLAD I DIDN'T PICK UP THE PHONE, BECAUSE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MR. NICE GUY!!!

They called. I did not answer, they did not leave a message.   848 is area code in New Jersey.

I get a call from this number almost every day I asked them to remove me from their list. Her response was that they do not call- its a machine. I asked again to be removed  and the operator hung up on me.

Is from Cardmember Services--the single most irritating "company" if you can call it that in the U.S. I have reported them to the FTC so many times--I'm on the Do Not Call Registry and they always call me several times a week--sometimes a "real" person but most times a stupid recording. I want the FTC to STOP them.

BEWARE!!!!  A total scam!!!  The recording said that this was my last opportunity to lower my credit card interest rate to 6% as long as my balance was at least $4K and my payment history was in good standing for the last 6 months. I was curious but cautious, so I pressed #1 to speak to a rep.  The guy I spoke with (heavy New York/New Jersey accent and tried to be all buddy-buddy with me and restated the offer asking me if my combined CC balances were over $4K and if my payment history with at least one of the cards was in good standing.  I told him that I only carry a balance with one CC, my Platinum AMEX Optima and that my balance was in excess of $20K - interest rate of 12.9%. He asked about payment history and I told him the truth, that I've had perfect payment history for more than a decade with AMEX - actually ever since I first got the card in 1988.  The scammer asked me for the toll free number listed on the back of my CC - "to verify what region the card was issued in" which is absurd - but I read it to him as it seemed harmless enough. That's when the scammer actually **asked me for my Amex card number**!!! When I asked him why he needs my AMEX number, he told me it was to verify that I actually owed the amount I said I owed - as if I'd be lying about admitting that I owed $20K?   He told me that he needed it to bring up my balance and payment history on his computer screen - as if AMEX would just give his company direct access to my account history without any written or verbal prior authorizations on my end.  That's when I told him that ***I never give my CC account number out over the phone*** and furthermore, I had no idea who his company even was.  He tried to convince me that he couldn't use or do any damage to my AMEX account having "only the CC number" and that giving him my CC account number was totally safe as long as I didn't tell him my expiration date and security code -which is total BS!!  I was in front of my computer, so even though I already knew this was a scam, I asked him for the name of his company so I could look it up for verification - he told me it was "card services" - well, for those of you reading this who don't know - every credit card issuer can be and is referred to as "card services" at some point, so I pressed him for the actual name of his company or company website.  He told me it was called "CDT" and then just seconds later, he hung up on me. The SCAMMER must have finally realized that he not gonna scam me.  I was just trying to get as much info on this fake company as possible.  This SCAMMER FAILED!!  BEWARE!!  JKK - Scottsdale, AZ
