This is a scam and you need to tell them to NEVER Call again.  If they do just leave your phone off the hook until you hear the dial tone.  Or better yet get a portable boat horn and blow it in their ear.  I'll bet they never call again.

Got the same call today and several days prior.  When he finally came on the line with his Middle Eastern Accent I knew it was a scam.  I told his so, and he said wait, listen to me, I then told him to Listen to me and Never Call this number again A H !  then I hung up.  Oh well.

I got 2 calls from this number this morning.  Both times callers had heavy accents and identified themselves as calling from the Windows Service Center,  On second call I asked for a number to return the call and got 800 and then disconnected

I keep getting the same calls almost daily here in Florida.  I now ask them for their street address so I can send the police to verify that they are legitimate.  The usually call me a name (profanity), and then they hang right up.  Another technique is to tell them to hold, and then I go do some house work.  :)

I have also been getting calls without an area code.
Tried calling back that number and  I get an "out of service" message.  Am getting one at least 2 to 3 times a day.  Never is anyone there.  Can't somebody put a stop to these nuisance calls.

Prank Call
No area code ever appears.  The first time someone with a heavy Middle Eastern accent who was calling himself 'Rick' called and said we had problems with our Windows computer.  He spoke English poorly.  Since then, we are called twice or three times a day.  I can't block the call without an area code.

I have been receiving calls from this number too!  They call all hours of the day and night.  Be careful with who answers your phone.  I told them that I didn't know what they were talking about when he said he was calling about my Windows computer and then he proceeded to tell me some very explicit sexual things that he would like to do to me.

I have called our phone providered and they are no help!!!  They told me to turn on annoynomous call block and put their number in call screening but since the phone number is incomplete I can't do anything.  Some how they are getting through the annoymomous call block too.

I too have been getting calls from this mystery number at least twice a day. It shows up as Out of Area 15897456. No one is talking on the other end - I just get a hang up. Very annoying. Can't block it without an area code. I just filed a complaint with the FCC as well.

Hello,
Following up with this number and I reported it to the FCC.  I called my phone carrier and tried blocking it but without an area code they cannot do much.  This caller is getting through and I have been on the "DO NOT CALL LIST"  The first call I had spoke to a person so I did ask him to not call anymore..take my number off his list and the calls just keep coming.

Google FCC and fill out the online form.  Maybe if enough of us do it .. this jerk will get "Cut off".

My husband and I are also receiving calls on our respective numbers from 1-589-7456. I see where someone says it showed on her bill with 589 as the area code. I blocked that number and the 850-589-7456. Obviously some sicko with nothing better to do is behind this.

I'm tired of getting calls from this number.  I've spoken to some guy with an indian accent who I couldnt understand and asked if there was anyone there who could speak ENGLISH.  He hung up.  The number called back again today.  I am going to file a complaint with the BBB regarding this number.

Got one here in Seattle. Total scam vibe. What do you know, my computer just "happened to die" after white paging their number while on the phone with them so they couldn't "help fix my errors". oopsie, my bad.
Number here only read as 589-7456 with caller ID showing 15897456.

We have been receiving calls from 589-7456 for weeks now. No area code appears on the caller ID. No one has yet to speak, just open line until we hang up. They call at different hours of the day. The last call was at 130pm PDT. How do we get this stopped?

I have been receiving these  calls 2 or 3 times a day.  Finally talked with someone today.  Wanted access to computer to fix windows errors.  Told them I couldn't for I was using a government server. (truth)  They hung up.  Hopefully  they don't call back.

Lately, I've been receiving calls from this number several times a day.  Usually the caller is on for a couple of seconds then hangs up.  When someone finally started talking and told me they needed access to my computer, I asked, "What computer?"  The caller sounded surprised and asked, "Don't you have a computer?"  I shot back, "No, do I need one?"  Then they hung up.

Prank Call
U.P of Michigan received this caller:  No Area Code shows up, with same phone number. Same Story. Microsoft Security expert needing access to your computer because someone was trying to hack it and they needed remote access to investigate it. I asked for a call-back number in the beginning, as soon as I saw the non-standard caller ID,and he gave me "832-426-2444". Hung up on him.  Caller had good English but a heavy Middle Eastern type of accent.

Its a scam and all they want is your money! They have no way of knowing whats going on with your computer and No legitimate company cold calls like this.  The scam usually entails them taking you to your event viewer which is a internal monitor that logs events on your computer.. Oh sure, you will see the error's logged, but its all a scam to get you to allow them access to your computer. The event viewer is only doing its job and its there for a real tech to look through should you actually have a problem. Then they want remote access! They usually turn your anti virus program off  and give you a big spiel, then inform you they want a small fee to fix it.. several hundred dollars of course! Meanwhile, they have access to all your computer and could be gleaning personal info, downloading stuff to your computer to turn it into a zombie computer to spam folks..

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

I've been getting repeated calls in Florida. I finally heard someone on the line and they said they were calling from Windows regarding my computer error messages. I couldn't understand them through their heavy accent. Told them I didn't accept random incoming call. They hung up. I am still getting the calls on my caller ID. Will block the number.
