Received a call from them stating they are the "Social Advertising Alliance". (http://www.socialadvertisingalliance.com) and saying that my business "has been chosen to be the featured business in your area this month and we'd like to verify your business information." Basically I believe it to be a directory listing / URL submission service and they wanted a ~$5 setup fee. Girl on the phone couldn't answer even the most basic of my questions. I suspect this was a "work from home" call center type of job where she didn't know nor care about the product - just pushing the collection of info and $5 setup fees simply to submit a business' URL to various search engine directories.
Might be useful for those who don't know how to do it themselves, but I had no need for this. Will not answer if they call again.

We keep getting calls from this number at 10 times a day. We refuse to answer this number.

They called wanting to speak to the manager or the owner. I told them they were not available. Then they said they wanted to talk to someone else who was in charge of advertising. I said we don't do advertising. He said you don't do advertising. I said no we don't do advertising. He said he would call back later.. Little does he know he won't get past me.

Didn't answer... no message... wouldn't answer it if they called again.

Actually,  855 is a toll free area code prefix, which means the company, that owns the number, gets charged for the call either way.  The telephone carrier does not charge the cost of the call to the called party.    800- 888-877-866-855  are all toll free numbers.    I did read the paragraph you were led to and I think they worded it wrong.

Just got the call.  Their Call Center has an old phone list as they were asking for a business name I haven't used in over 5 years.  E Bridge is the company identified.  Local Listing Pages is the Online Directory they are recruiting listings for.  The offer to make my business listing of the month would not get me any new leads as their directory is not optimized for Local Search Results (I'm in Central Florida).  They weren't even optimized for their own name nationally.  Customers have to find them before they find your listing.  They are preying on the ignorant.  Caveat Emptor.  If you haven't seen their directory online in search results, then they probably are not a good match for you in your area.
