I just got a call too. the creditor is also advanced america. thing is i paid them off completely in a civil trusteeship through my municipal court back in 2010. However before the final payments could be issued they sold the debt. I have funds sitting at the court and no way of knowing who they legitimately go to. tried called the corporate office of advanced america but they told me themselves that my debt was sold and they were unable to accept the remaining payments. Been getting calls every 6 months from a new collector. I did the right thing and paid my debt, the court agrees. How do I get these people off my back???

So in other words you are scammers that need to post fake messages on here because site like this make it hard to trick victims out of money on the phone.
Actually, we already knew that, but we always appreciate a vote of confidence in this site by you crooks directly! Now it's back to the boiler room with you.

they are arbitration. they won't send you validation of debt but they do send you your updated credit report and a paid in full letter from the original creditor. they helped me out. and my credit is alright now. and i didn't have to go to court.

Did they send you a debt validation letter as required by FDCPA regulations? Did this information prove that you do owe this debt and that they are legally entitled to claim and collect said debt in your state? If they have not sent you debt validation via mail proving you owe this, then they are in violation of the FDCPA. It is illegal in the US to threaten you with a lawsuit unless they are actually going through with this. Report the calls to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.
Remember - no proof you owe this debt to them = you do not owe them anything!
