I appreciate the information you posted here. I have been out of full-time work for over 3 years and it is so frustrating when you complete all of the application information and then it turns out to be a scam.
I was very suspicious when it said to call this number so I googled the number and found your posts.
I am like you, I don't have the time or the money to waste on this. "How can they stoop so low to take advantage of people who are desperately in need" is right.
Because of what you posted here, I will not be making that call! Thank you for taking the time to post this and good luck in your job search. Hopefully, we won't run into too many of these scams.

Ditto, as Tony.  Just got off the phone with them after what was supposed to take 3-5 mins I was promised by the 1st person who answered my phone call to her with, "Am I speaking to Florence?"  THAT in and of itself should have been a red flag, but the lady was so nice.  After the 3rd transfer to a Robert Hawthorne who is supposedly with Kaplan University, I got suspicious and performed a Google search on them and found complainsboard.com where there were numerous postings. Wish I had done this prior to calling the phone number that popped up after filling out what I thought was a legit application to a local hospital. I have limited phone service (and text messaging that I have to pay per message) due to these hard economic times and I even asked the 1st person because of this, if this was a legit company.  Since some bad experiences with Monster and CareerBuilder, I don't list my phone #, just a Google-based phone #, which sends me emails when I get a call.

So, great--now they have my resume with all my personal info (again, which I thought I was submitting to a local hospital for a legitimate position). Can't believe these people would stoop so low as to take advantage of people who are in need, which seems to be quite a large area of this country, nowadays. SCUM!!!

The company name is App Tree.I completed a small application, and called the company, spoke with a lady named Nicole. After a few questions to identify and confirm my Info, she asked me about what was my higest level of Education. Then she  ask me if Iwas interested in continuing my education. I told her no and that I didn't  want anyone calling me about it. So she ended the call quickly by responding that she will send more information about the job and other jobs that I may be qualified in my area. Never got the email. I'm reporting this to the BBB!
