Got a phone call too similiar. Investigator Coleman saying to call a number left on my voice mail. Said to call back at number, tried to verify who I was I guess by leaving the last 4 digits of my social, my birthdate and what sex I was. Said that they would be filing civil and defrauding a lending company at the county that I reside in currently. I left some nasty messages stating that they were a scam and left a whole bunch of other messages too. lol. I have that number blocked now.

Fraud Investigation Service-  This company called my daughter and tried to give the impression they were from the police department stating that it was Investigator Bennett from the "Fraud Unit".  They are in fact some sort of collection agency.   I called to get information about the company and to ask their address, and information then the rudeness began.  I spoke with Jonathan Riley of that company who began the dance to avoid telling me anything about the company's contact information so I could see if they were a legitimate company.   I have a husband and two sons that are police officers, this company is one of many who are operating on the fringes of the law, their practices are unethical.   Best advice ----if you see this number hang up  (855)306-5672.

My brother who just yesterday returned from afganastan got a call from  these same people saying that I am being charged with check fraud if I dont call by 5pm today. I called because I knew I had some old loans out there (over 7 years old) but after speaking with Investigator Lisa I got real suspicious. They could only tell me my last 4 of my ss and the las address they had on me was from 4 years before this loan ever took place. I know on the app I put the current address. And to think I almost came out and paid what they wanted. Beware of this scam!!

Investigator Michele Collins from Fraud Investigating Services called leaving a message that they were trying to get in touch with for my son regarding actions pending against him in Westmoreland County Court.  She said they have files that would be helpful for his lawyers.  She also stated a Case Number.

This is the second time someone called from this company regarding the same thing.  They don't realize how upsetting this was for me. When I called my son his wife answered and I was almost in tears when I was telling her about this.  I can't remember the first investigator's name now, but when I called for him a woman said that he was over at the court house.  I gave her my son's name and she said she would look for the file.  When she came back to the phone she asked if I knew my son's last four digits of his SS#.  When I told her the numbers, she said my son wasn't the person they were looking for and that my telephone number would be taken off that file.  That was about two months ago.  I guess my phone number wasn't taken off the file.

I think I will call them back tomorrow and tell them if this happens again I will definitely be contacting the Attorney General's Office to bring charges against them.

These people (Jack Martin to be exact) called not only my brother, my sister, my sister-in-law and my fiancé asking for me. I was very scared due to the fact that they were saying I was involved in a fraudulent act. I have NEVER been involved with the authorities in anyway. I finally looked up the number on the internet and low and behold found all of you other victims of these peoples senseless act of defamation of character and many other offenses!!!! I will definitely be contacting the Attorney General tomorrow along with the Better Business Bureau!!! Please do not fall victim to these MORONS!!!!

4/11/13 Investigator Sullivan called my brother, stepdad, daughter claiming that they have 2 charges against me and it would be easier for me to call them back before the matter goes to court.  I called them back and they said I have two charges against me in my county one for fraud with malicious intent and one for defrauding a financial institution. They said I took out a loan five years ago with a company called Paragon, but I wouldn't recognize the company name because they are the lender on the back end of the loan.  I asked her to send me information on the loan.  She said she couldn't send me anything, that they are not a collection company, that her job is only to track me down and make a settlement offer on behalf of the lawyers.  I said I can't pay her anything without documentation.  She then transferred me to the close out department.  Then investigator Riley got on the phone.  He got very abusive and sarcastic and said "Sure I'll send you documentation - I'll send it with the Sherriff.  I said o.k. and he hung up.  Don't people have enough real problems without having made up ones too?  I wish these people could be found.  They are the ones that deserve to be brought to court.  How did they get my information and my families phone numbers?

These people are a total scam do not give them any information. They are fake trying to collect on debts that dont exist or are way out of statue of limitations. Wont send any information to back up their claims. The PO Box they give as their mailing address is listed as a charity fund. Called back to make sure had correct address guess what they wouldn't give me an address. Looked up Dilman and Associates in NC doesn't exist.
What a way to make a living.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Called a relative yesterday (4-3-13) said her name was 'Inspector Lisa'  from Dillman & Associates.  I asked her what type of company this was (she stated a law firm); asked her what this was in reference to and she wanted to verify the last four digits of my SSAN; told her that I was not going to give her any personal information.  She stated that she could not help me without it and I told her so be it.  I also told her that I would be sending the phone number and what little info she gave me to the Attorney General in my state and also to the Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau.  I have gotten several of these types of calls recently and so have some of my friends and relatives.  Don't know what they are about but it seems to me that if this were a criminal or civil matter involving me, several privacy laws have been broken.

What this has gotten to be for me is a pain in the neck but I won't be intimidate by this crap and certainly won't be giving out any personal informaton to people I know nothing about.
