They also call from 905-886-0555.  See the comments under that number.  This is PIC, aka Partners in Credit - yes another bottom feeder collection agency.  The person that called stated he is "Mr. Canning", and he tries to sound authoritative.  Most people know that legitimate people in positions of power or authority never refer to themselves as "Mr." anything.  Do your research on collection agencies in your Province as there is plenty of info on the net about them.  You will then learn to never be afraid of them again.  Do NOT acknowledge the debt, do not make arrangements for payment and never pay a single penny to them.  Hang Up, period.  Let them call - they cannot call you at work if you tell them not to, they can only verifty employment with your employer ONCE , and even then they cannot state the reason for their call.  Do not say the person has moved or they can then call relatives with the same last name to try to skiptrace/embarrass you.  Privacy laws prevent them from talking to anyone but you about your debt.  Just remember that Collection agencies hire low paid "clerks" to harrass people behind in their bills.  They are cleverly hired by the banks as a cost control measure, as the banks would never have their highly paid Banking Officers wasting their precious time on such trivial collection matters.  (they get a commission if they get you to pay - if your debt is at this stage it has already ruined your credit rating for 7 years and NOTHING will take it off your credit bureau for that time period, so don't even bother yourself with it - there is alot of good people that have been hurt by a bad economy - and some of them are probably now working as a collection "clerk" themselves to make ends meet.  Do not be taken advantage of their "threats" - just think it is their commission you are paying!)
