The scumbags calling you have no morals or decency, for sure, but I have to wonder about the timbre of your character.  First, you take out a loan from a payday lender, which is akin to taking out a loan from a local gangster.  The benefit, of course, is that it is not credit reported.  Then you default after one payment, which sounds like a strategic decision.  Now, after dodging the bill for 5 years (hiding behind state law in nc), scumbags are having to use (not so) clever ruses to get you on the phone.  It sounds to me like your behavior, while legally sanctioned, is on par with your pursuers.  Why don't you have call blocking or something? why don't you send a cease and desist? Curious.

These scumbags left a voice mail on my home telephone today. They are bill collectors/scammers. The message left said it was from a Brian Mays (I think that was his last name - he was talking so fast I barely understood what he said) with "Fairview & Associates, formerly Cambridge & Stein". He said he was calling about some case number involved in a "class action", but if I called 855-502-7966, they would "work with me to resolve the case". Yeah, right. I have a feeling they are the same people that call saying they have papers to serve on me, represent themselves to be process servers, but if I call this number, they will work with me to clear it up. Anyone with half a brain knows that if you are going to be served with court papers, you sure don't get a phone call or an opportunity to "work it out". I think these people are calling me about an internet payday loan that I received about 5 years ago and missed a payment. However, in my state (North Carolina) payday loans are illegal and the NC Attorney General's office said that IF they take me to court to make sure I go and tell the judge exactly what the case was for - a pay day loan - and he will dismiss it immediately because they're illegal and therefore not collectable in this state.

I see these scammers don't like to provide their address, so stopitall found one - 5960 Fairview Road, Charlotte, NC. Well, that address belongs to Davinci Virtual Offices, an outfit that provides fake offices for fake businesses or scammers. So these scammers paid Davinci something like $150/day or some other cheap hourly rate and put the address on something when they absolutely had to. This should be ILLEGAL. Davinci is probably a scam outfit also.

Actually your wrong. Paying your bills has no influence on this crap. I have gotten calls looking for the person who lived at my current address before I moved in. Phone number is in my name yet they call me asking for me and then ask if i know how to get in touch with the former occupant. I have also had a similar message left on my vm stating they were looking for me and if i did not call them back i would face legal action. I called them and it was for someone with the same name. I advised them they shouldn't leave messages on vm like that and was told to mind my own business, at which point I proceeded to use my most stern Sgt voice and let them know exactly what I was doing next which was filing a FCC complaint. For some reason he hung up on me. hmm

This lady named Carmen Brown called supposedly from the law firm of Cambridge and Stein.  She said it is concerning a civil matter, possible fraud by deception and she gave a docket number.  This company has been calling all my family members and said she will continue to call.  When asked to send something in writing they did not produce anything.  She just said it was from a payday loan that was not paid.   I will report to the FTC. I guess some people do not have a life or a real job so they waist their day harassing people.  This company is a fraud.  Do not send them any money.

Continue to call for someone who doesn't live at this address.

I received a call from this number and they also called my mom and my brother saying I had an outstanding check with BoA and they needed to contact me to keep from a warrant being issued. Then I had them fax me something and they did but it has no actual address on the fax just Charlotte NC. They are calling my work which I do not like because then my boss thinks I am doing illegal stuff when I am not. I am going to fax them a letter advising them not to call my work or house phone anymore and to stop harrassing me. I also looked up the company name and the BBB does not have them on file, a letter was sent to them by the BBB but it was returned.

I got the same messages and even gave them 75.00.  However, I have since found what I needed and will be reporting them to the ftc and attorney general the numbers were different and when they sent me a letter there was no return address.  Interesting.  If they were legal why wouldn't I have a way to contact them.

Received a call from 213-261-0228 recorded message stating this a call for _______________in regards to a possible civil matter. This is Mrs. Obrien, your file is in our pre legal department pending a lawsuit to be served in my local area.  For more information please press 1 or call us back at 855-502-7966.  I remember about a year ago I received messages from a different number but exact same message.  After about 2 months it stopped and now apparently they are starting again.  Unable to reach anyone to call them back to request they stop calling me.

I do pay my bills - they are calling me in regards to a bad check - I can't write a bad check as my bank will process the funds no matter if I'm negative in my account or not.

Discussed & Had Enough!   Like so many of you, started receiving calls last May or June [7-8 mo.] from 855-502-7966, 805-552-3414 and other #s.  Started with voice msgs., then live caller stating "looking for an individual (__name______) in regards to a possible civil issue" (and/or pending lawsuit about to be filed/served on (___name_____) regarding either bad cheks/debt, etc.).   Asking me if I am a parent!  (___name____) owes no one.   I AM REPORTING ALL MY INFO. WITH THE  FTC.   This has got to stop.

I got the same call several times.  Looking for someone named Robin Jackson and/or Robin Robinson.  Here's the funny part.  It's my pre-paid Cell phone that I have had for over 3 years now.  I called them back to remove my number but they keep calling every now and then.  Clearly breaking the DO NOT CONTACT laws.  hmmmmmmmmmmm.  Can anyone say LAWSUIT?

I got a caller ID # of CharlotteNC , 704.909.6422, a woman's voice this call is intended to so-n-so or anyone of he whereabouts of this defendant call investigator Michael at 855.502.7966.  I am not calling them back.  I am going to let this play out and not answer phone, I can screen.

My caller ID show a number showed this # 704-909-6422,Charlotte, NC.  They left a message for so and so, which had the same last name, which is common.  They left a message to call Investigator Michael at this 855.502.7966 looking for a defendant like someone wants to sue us. they must have the wrong person  don't live in Charlotte.  By the way it was a woman's voice.

They just called my mom and left the message that they need me and my counsel to contact them in regards to a case of bank fraud. My mom was freaked out needless to say. left the # 855-502-7966

This phone number is also in connection with 'The Cambridge Group' & 'CNS Associates', both of which are bogus and a scam.  They are basically scavengers who acquire personal information and try to collect money illegally by means of harassment, false accusations of fraud, civil suits, etc.  If they call you REPORT THEM TO THE FTC and every time they call from a new number, or a person calls you using another fake name, contact the FTC and update that inf with them.  They give you a reference number when you file a complaint so you can do so.  I have been doing this and they are great in working with people.  If enough people file complaints against these people , they will eventually take action.

Darnell...they called with the same message. They are even calling my neighbors looking for me with the same message. I am debt free so not sure why they are doing this.

My BOSS received a message from this number. They stated their name as investigator Frank looking for my exhusband!!  Don't know how they thought I was still married to the guy. I have never been referred to as my married name the whole entire time I have been employed by my boss.

I got the same message.  They are also calling me from different numbers but I don't have any outstanding debt so why would I pay anything.  I wish they would stop calling because I am not answering.

Same thing here.. I have no outstanding collections or anythng like that.. . Yet this thing called my mother's house, where I haven't lived in almost 20 years and said the same thing. When I try to call back, it is only a busy signal.

This number is calling my relatives homes because we have the same last name.
