Just received a voice message from this number. Identified himself as Cooper Collins. CID said Pre Legal. Will not call him back - received another one a few minutes later - same number - identified himself as Collins Cooper. CID said 800 Services.
Will he ever quit?

Called to go on about autism, rasing funds for autism, wants you (the called) to mail letters to all your neighbors about raising money for autism for us (the callers). What a scam. Not only do they want you to spend your money on envelopes, letters, postage, they can't provide a legitimate non-profit irs letter or ein number. Crooks, scammers, thieves.

800 Service

All the #'s that call and no one is there is a business,,,that connects to your line to send data across,,and it is the phone company that assigns these #'s to your phone,,it is called Bridging,,,and it can connect all the way across the country,,,look at the times these #'s call,,,maybe when the bank closes,,or after 5pm when some other business is closing ,,so we are paying for someone else to use our #,,that is why the phone company made lines portable,,it's called line splitting these days years ago it was called party lines,,when more than one person can use the same line,,the only one making profit off this is the phone company,,,think about it if the # isn't in use how can it be calling you,,,and right now it's mostly 855 #'s,,when I called the # back it said this # is on hold and not in service yet,,, if it's not in service then how can it be calling my house twice a day every day,,and it connects wether you answer or not,,look at your phone bill and take the extra #'s added to your's that they are calling you Account #,,,and start calling all the 800 #'s ,,,the extra #'s on my bill are 275-0596,,so put them together,,,1-800-275-0596,,,1-855-275-0596,,etc and you'll know some of the businesses using your #,,I use AT&T,,

We never answer calls we don't reconize. We figure if it is important they will leave a message. I agree these are Robo Calls. ABC News did big thing on Robo Calls a couple weeks ago and mentioned the government has seen a double in complaints. As fast as they shut one down another starts up. Easy to do. You can set it up right on the web!

Just don't answer. Its a pain to say the least. As you black one number, they will get another.

I've been seeing this number on caller ID for a week or so now.  I never pick up the phone when I don't know who it is (if it's a real call they'll start leaving a message) and I NEVER, EVER, EVER give money to anyone who uses my phone to beg for money.  If I want to donate to a charity it goes directly to the charity - not some call center taking 95% of my donation.

Have been receiving at least 1 call daily, usually more, from various 855 numbers all with a caller ID name of "800 Service".     I always just connect-disconnect the calls so don't know what they what.  (Need a call blocker to automate the process, I guess.)

The caller ID said "private caller". Never heard of an 800 being 'private' since mostly they're used by businesses.  Not very many legitimate businesses would want to be 'private.' Suspect a scammer.

I agree Bill.  People should never ever donate money over the phone.
Take it or send it directly to your favorite legitimate charity.

This is scam city, "professional fund raisers" or not. Anyone with a telephone can claim to be a professional fund raiser for the Lord's holy choir or any other established organization or one with only a name made up by the scammer in the last 60 seconds.

How can I be sure this is scam city? You cannot connect to the phone number 855-522-8852. You can call it, but you will hear only a recorded message indicating that the telephone operating company has not yet assigned this number to anyone. These scammers are spoofing a number onto the Caller ID that the operating company may actually assign to someone tomorrow, next week or whenever causing great consternation if callers legitimately attempting to reach whoever is actually assigned this number start receiving the message these scammers are putting out. Rank amateurs, even for phone scammers.

Block any calls with this number showing on your Caller ID.

I just start pressing all the numbers on the keypad over and over and over and then hang up.  Today was the 1st call in several days.

The first thing out of the man's mouth was, "I'm a professional fund raiser and..."  and that's when I said, "Then why are you calling me?"  Then I hung up.

Her first words were "I'm a paid professional fund raiser" and I hung up.

I just learned a tip re: phone calls when no one is there when you pick up.  They are robo calls that are trying to discern a pattern of when someone is home so a "warm body" can call when they are most likely to reach you.  I never answer a call if I suspect a scam call & if it is legit call they will leave a message.

Hangs up on me.  Fed up with these calls.  STOP THEM PLEASE.

Received a call from this number today and picked up on the third ring because I felt like arguing.  Unfortunatley, there was no one there...just a dead line.

Doid not answer but this number makes my answering machine act like I picked up and never hung up.
