We have gotten numerous call from them and they are looking for someone named Charles.  We told them it is the wrong number and yet they still call.  Today they called two times in an hour and when my husband told them they have the wrong number and to stop calling-Ms.Wilkerson started to get rude and talking over him. He told her to stop calling or he was going to get a lawyer,  She said he was going to jail and tried to trick him and called him the name of the person she was looking for and he told her that he was not this person and to stop calling.  She then said we must know the guy then if she had our number.  Rude and obnoxious so we are contacting our local attorney general.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:
?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:
?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

These crooks get personal information from payday loan companies and have a lot of low life soft spoken out of work car salesmen or some Barry White sound alike voice Dudes who call themselves investigators or agents with some paralegal training trying to press their victims to do a quick payment arrangement over the phone. Once they get your bank account information you are dead meat. Report them to the FTC as soon as you get their massage.

They called me as well with the same check fraud fairy tale and i reported them to the FTC.
Remember what Stuart's mother (remember Stuart from Mad Tv) said about kids who don't behave: "Kids who don't behave give the pro choise movement a reason to exist"
In this case I would tell these clawns:
"Fraudulent bottom feeder bill collectors who don't behave give the FTC a reason to exist"

THIS COMPANY WAS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, STATED THEY COULDNT GIVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING MATTER BECAUSE COMPUTATION SYSTEM WAS DOWN, COULDNT TELL ME WHAT ATTORNEYS THEY SO CALLED REPRESENTED. THEY WERE UPSET WHEN I BEGAN TO ASK QUESTIONS AND I STATED THAT I WAS GOING TO STOP PAYMENT, THIS COMPANY IS A THIRD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCY AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY JURISDICTION TO PLACE ANYONE IN JAIL FOR A PAYDAY LOAN, THIS IS A CIVIL MATTER NOT A CRIMINAL MATTER. I FEEL CHEATED AND I THEN SPOKE WITH THE BANK AND I AM DISPUTING THESE PAYMENTS MADE AND I CANCELLED MY CARD SO THAT NO OTHER PAYMENTS CAN BE TAKEN OUT. THEY CHARGED  ME A TOTAL OF $1325.00, TO BE MADE IN  5 BI WEEKLY INSTALLMENTS.

Get the same information as everyone else has.  Agree that if they were legit, why would they have to ask where to serve papers on you, where you work, etc.  If they were legit, they would already have access to that information, not to mention that they would KNOW that they were required to send information to you about the "alleged" debt, which is a civil matter not criminal.  And, sending it would be no problem.

Have been caught up in this before, but not again.  Not even sure what company they were with due to all the rambling.

Got a voice mail saying it was same thing as above, Kramer Law, regarding check fraud, but they were calling for a family member and gave me some case number and a direct extension (302) to call back. I called back and this Wilkerson woman said I needed to listen to the voice message again to get the proper case number and I asked her if I could just give her my number and she could look it up that way and she said she would need the case number. I then asked for extension 302 and she told me to hold on, I could hear her shuffling around, probably trying to cover the phone, and then got back on and said "We'll remove your number." I told her she had better and then hung up.

BEWARE this company is a scam.  Report them to your local District Attorney if you receive a call. The FTC requires them to divulge certain information regarding the debt, which they refuse to do.  It also prohibits them from certain actions like claiming to file legal proceeding when they have not.  They also claim they are a law firm, which they are not listed on any state bar in the U.S.  FTC requires them to send you written information on the debt within five days of contact you, ask them to do so, they will not.  Ignore them, do not give them any money, and report them to the FTC, your local DA, and your states AG.

Every person who posts on here saying that people are "trailer trash" or deadbeats for not paying their bills works for the company.  What legit debt collector would bother to post on a website such as this one?  A legit debt collector doesn't need to because they have all the proper documentation about the debt you may owe.

Basically this bottom feeder scumbag company calls you and says you owe such and such amount for something from years ago.  They won't provide debt validation and when I asked for their address I was told they do not have to provide their address.   They broke at least 3 FDCPA violations just on one phone call alone.  By law they are supposed to send you validation via mail within 5 business days from their first contact.  The reason these scumbags won't send you anything in the mail is because they don't have it.

One last thing to the morons on here who post saying that this company is legit and helped them out.  I contacted my Attorney General?s Office(I live in PA) and they stated that this company is 100% a scam and to not provide them with any information and avoid the phone calls if possible.  I think I?ll believe the Attorney General?s Office over these clowns who won?t even send you anything in the mail.
