After months of getting calls from these knuckleheads, even submitting a claim with the CFPB which went absolutely nowhere.  I was able to track these people to Fidelis Assets Management in Virginia Beach aka Kinum Inc.  They got greedy with their phone calls and I even scared the lady when I called "Goldberg, Sloan, and Associates" back and asked if they were Fidelis Assets Management.

Apparently they used to be based out of Buffalo, New York until they were bought around November 2012 by a Virginia Beach collection company but kept the same name ( http://fideliscollections.com/).  Nowadays they also go by the name of Kinum, Inc as well.  If you look at Kinum, Inc's website (http://www.kinum.com) they claim to use "innovative" tactics to get people to call back.  Wonder if using these "innovative" tactics means harassing a person's friends, family, and employer.

I was able to track them which was a big relief for myself. Fidelis and Kinum were started by some folks who have been in the collection industry for more than 20 years including Bruce Klinger (google Bruce Klinger Virginia Beach), Bruce even came out on NBC news claiming that his company uses legitimate tactics, legitimate my a*%,  another culprit is Sharon Park (google Sharon Park in Miami), another culprit is Rick Rainho in Salt Lake City (apparently he's been helping Kinum grow with their "innovative" tactics.

Kinum has been aggressively incorporating in states across the United States however all roads lead back to Virginia Beach.

Now we can all sue them for their harassment and violations of the FDCPA.  Also let the CFPB know as well as your state attorney generals.

"The right people [you] should be paying" are those who treat you fairly and honestly. Good luck finding them in the crooked world of PDL collection. An agency which jerks you around, abuses you, or denies any other rights should not be rewarded with your money, end of story. If anything, they should pay *you* if you're able to corner the thugs and sue. That is the point of the FDCPA some of us so often make.

Calling Ace Cash Express will not verify the debt or the collector's claim and it won't make the sins of its hired guns magically legal. Ace may be out of this loop altogether, in fact. The FDCPA grants you a specific dispute process and the right to a quieter phone. Learn to use it.

I received that call from Christina (716) 748-7630 from the same law firm as everyone posting 855-707-1500 Goldberg, Sloan Associates.  This is a scam because they have been giving out false information stating I have to appear in court on April 25, 2014, room 105, Judge Egan.  First, there is no room 105 in the courthouse in New Jersey and there is no Judge by the name of Egan.  I spoke with the courts and they verified all of this information that it was false information.  I told the guy that I was going to call the courts and he stated they would not have that information until roll call that morning.  After speaking with the courts they explained this was a scam.  Please be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call from a guy named David Kraft stating he was from Legal Advocate Services and he stated I had to go to court on April 25, 2014, in New Jersey.  He gave me a court number and name of judge.  He also stated Goldberg Sloan Associates is the company suing me and their number 855-707-1500.  After looking up there is no company with that listing.  I called the courts and found out everything this company told me was a liar; there was no judge by the name of Judge Egan and no court room number 105.  I called the 855-707-1500 and I spoke with a guy by the name of Mr. Rubin and he stated it was a payday loan that I did not have and that it was an account that has been closed for a couple of years.

This guy by the name of Marshall Davis is contacting me threatening me that he has to serve me and I should make myself available. I am not even sure for what he is serving me. He left me this # 18558071500 I have been calling back but no answer. I bet you those people have nothing better to do thinking that money grows on tree. When you able to provide me with legit documents of why you suing me then we'll take it from there.

It never ceases to amaze me when I see an obvious SHILL, such as yourself, come on here and spout BS! Are you so deeply ignorant that you fail to perceive how illiterate you are? It's really no wonder why you can't find a real job!
If your little two-bit outfit had title to a legitimate debt, you'd have no problem proving it by mailing out those federally mandated notices of validation. As it's quite obvious that you don't, there's only one conclusion to be made. You're a bottom-feeding fraudulent and/or bogus debt collection shop! Why would even a mentally challenged individual, such as yourself, even remotely consider paying any money to FRAUDS?
You're trying to play way out of your league Fraud-boy! We gut scammers like you faster than fish. Go Away! You're boring us!

Charles:

If they got a judgement against your son, can you provide the court and case # so we can pull it up since it would be a public record.  That way we can get Goldberg, Sloan, and Associates' real address.  I'm sure many people would be more than happy to file claims against this "company" for violations of the FDCPA.  My guess is that there is no case # because that would expose who they really are, and based on their collection practices they would be subject to multiple suits. But I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt "Charles" if you can provide the court and case #.  Also, if you get contacted by this sort of "company" make sure to document and record everything they do and report them to the FTC 855-411-2372 and your state's AG.  My guess is they think they are safe from being located but we are in America.  Anyone can be located and when they are, they better have a toothbrush with them.  Also make sure to contact the FBI's fraud investigative unit if they contacted you to report them (202) 324-3000.

Contrary to what you are saying "Charles" the majority of people do pay their legitimate bills, sometimes people fall behind because of life's circumstances and that's no reason to harass anyone to pay up or scare them into paying up.  The tactics this "company" uses are not legitimate and they deserve what's coming to them.

The maximum is 25%....

Title III protects employees by limiting the amount of earnings that may be garnished in any workweek or pay period to the lesser of 25 percent of disposable earnings or the amount by which disposable earnings are greater than 30 times the federal minimum hourly wage prescribed by Section 6(a) (1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. This limit applies regardless of how many garnishment orders an employer receives.

Nice try.

If your son did not pay his bills (real ones), was sued (a real law suit) and went to court (a real one) and the Judge (a real Judge) said "Pay up son". Then what did you expect? Your son HAD his day in Court. However Lotus Blossom, millions of Americans are being called by foreign criminals trying to extort money on fake loans. So until these fools send proof of debt would you please take your whine to 'Judge Judy'? Notice how these 'Pay your bills' shills NEVER mention the 'foreign crooks"? Haven't seen one say it on 800 notes yet.

The people on this site simply do not want to pay their bills. This company is legitimate and is not a scam in any way. They filed a judgement against my son and he is now being garnished 30% of his wages. You can be dumb like the people on this site and get garnished or you can contact them before the court date...

Had a message yesterday from Marshall. I immediately took notice of his accent because I live in Rhode Island and he had a southern accent. He told me I would be served between 11-5 at my job. What Job would that be? Any way they cannot claim legal action will be taken if they have no intention on doing so. If no one arrive to my place of employment between 11-5 then they have just given me just cause to file a complaint with the AG office. What annoys me the most is somehow he got my home number which is private an unlisted. No one calls me on the number except my mother. I use it to call out to order takeout and work from home. I am also getting calls on my cell from a Zeneith Financial Services trying to collect a pay day loan. I asked them to validate the debt. They of course said they could through email and I told them I wanted it via mail. I just dare them to commit fraud through the mail and see how that works out for them. They no better so after a few months I expect them to move on and pass this "debt" on to someone else. Something tells me these two calls are related.

I to received a recorded call from a Paul Crew with Goldberg, Sloan and Associates. When I returned the call and spoke with the operator letting him know they have the wrong number for the person they are looking for he seemed nice and assured me he would remove my number ASAP. We will see how it goes since I can not find any address or information at all about this company.

Buffalo, NY they leave a message the guy says his name is Paul Crew from Golberg Sloan and associates! Sometimes they call 3-4? a week or twice a day, then I won't here anything from them for a week or 2. It's been going on forever they left a message the other day saying they were gonna come by my job on Monday the 27th with cops and serve and arrest me(not the first time they've said this). Needless to say no one ever showed up and considering there calling me from buffalo NY and I live in NC I haven't lived in NY in almost 15 years! Does anyone know who these people are what they want or how to get rid of them?? B

I don't disagree.  Nor do I think people should act quite so shady.  If they were upfront about who they are and not trying to scare people, they would likely run across more people who are willing to work with them.  I don't know what I'll find out tomorrow when i call Ace, but we'll see.  I am not going to pay until I see something that shows that these are the right people I should be paying.

It doesn't matter if people DO owe money - per the FDCPA, they should NOT pay unless they receive proof of debt and proof that the caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  If someone is called and they do owe money, I agree that they should call the original owners of the debt to find out if they still own the account.  That does not excuse refusal to abide by debt collection laws, however.

I got this call today.  When searching this, i see that under 855-717-1501, there are the exact same sort of messages but a few people mentioning that they really did owe old debt to Ace Cash Express.  I do actually owe debt to them from years ago, so I am not entirely inclined to think this is completely fake.

Tomorrow I will contact Ace directly and find out the number of who I should call.  It may be these people, maybe not.  I will let you know what I find out.  Perhaps I can even get this old debt off my back.

I too received a call from "Tim Kennedy" - I called the number and someone did call me back at my job, which is not the number I left, and left a voice mail with an ext.  I returned call and got a voice mail - I told them I did not know who they were and if they were trying to collect a debt (I don't owe any money) to please put in in writing and send it to me via mail and I will tend to it.  They called back and left a voice message that they cannot do it via mail it has to be done over the phone - SCREAMS SCAM - any legitimate business or claim would send it to you with all info.  The person who has been calling is a John Morgan.  As for someone coming to your job, they are not going to fore warn you so you can skip out.  Are people really this guillable?  I checked with my county clerk's office and they never heard of Tim Kennedy.  What does that tell you?
