I called them back 855-714-3586 and asked to be taken off their call list. They just asked for my phone number and asked if I was April Kerpal or something, I said, "no" and she hung up. Prior to this they were calling me once a day.

I think I'm in the clear, I'd give it a try.

Event Reminder
Well, got another call from the same number today...I posted back in August that it was the Del Ray whatever calling, they called for me and for my son (who doesn't live here).  Today there was a message on the answering machine that someone had used my son's social security number...they do a stupid thing where they pause and a supposed automatic voice fills in the blanks...and be sure when I call back (same number as the Del Ray dingdongs) to use the file number that ... wonder of wonders was the SAME file number the Del Ray people used...how bout that!!  What a coinkydink!!!!  Of course I had all that information because when I reported to the FCC, I printed a copy...which I shall do with THIS report also....as to those people posting that this is legitimate...shame on you for working for these scammers...you are criminals and I hope you like balony sandwiches...with stale bread...jail food is the pits I hear.

They have called several times. Called them back today it's a debit collection company claiming I am in the legal department and they want to settle before the matter goes to court. I asked for proof of the debt and they wanted to email me proof. I told them according to the FDCPA I WOULD LIKE PROOF MAILED TO ME. They said notices had already been sent. I said I don't want a notice I want proof of the debit. They would not send it. Then when I have my attorney's name and phone number he acted like he wrote it down and the. Put me on hold. I hung up the phone and added their number to my blocked calls list. Don't pay them a dime. This so called debit has been sold to four different companies now.

You sound like a professional debtor...

Are you, in your ignorance, really helping the consumer ?

If you borrow money.... pay it back.... easy as that...

If you don't pay your bills... they go on your credit report as a bad debts.

Next time the consumer tries to get a car loan or a home loan.... are you going to give them more free advise on why they didn't get the loan ?

True: don't fall prey to scams..... especially if it is someone who tells you not to pay a bill you legitimately owe.

just an FYI:
I tt local police about these calls and they said that even if we have a loan out and stop payment on it that the loan company can't really do anything about it except for take us to civil/or small claims  court and then a judge will make a decision as to if the request for money is ligit and as to how the loan will be repaid....I learned  the hard way not to try and get a loan online, unless it is to Westernsky which is a reputible company, even if the other companies say the site is safe its not!  all these scammers get the info from the sites, most likely sold to them by the person in charge of the site and harrase you until you pay what they want, in my case they want $1546.25....they have been calling me at work and leaving messages to pay them...let them show me proof I owe them.  i called the number back and asked for proof and got a run around....

keep getting calls from this number staying they work for Delray International AKA Delray Cand that I owe on a personal loan but when you look for these companis on line they deal in large company trades loans ect...
and Delray International came up as a 1-10 person company with no website...phone number comes up as unknown and if they are a loan company why don't they let people know their their company name on caller ID???   Lindsey as she said her name is, would not tell me anything about their company and pt another person on who came across as a supervisor ro something...she said they work for Castle Loans and i had 24 hrs to pay them $1500 to her OVER THE PHONE yeh, right, I am going to pay out that kind of money if i had it, to a company that can't even identify themselves ligitimately.

I was left a vm at my job today from someone at Del Ray I couldn't understand what or if he said anything after Del Rey. He said that my email address for being fraudently used. He gave the email address. If off I don't even have an yahoo email address with that name. He wanted me to call back using some case number. I have learned along time ago that these guys are running a scam. My mother was a victim of one of these con-artist for 600.00 dollars she is 82 years old and on a fixed income. I didn't find out about until she had already paid using her checking account. I immediately took her to her bank and closed the account and told her never to pay anyone that she doesn't owe supposedly she was paying a bill for my sister to stop them from having her arrested. Horrible how these people do that especially to the elderly.

When I get these calls I always check on this webpage to see if anyone else has been contacted. Good Luck people these guys will stop at nothing to get your hard-earned money.

And, if the three people were so overjoyed with just handing over their money, what was the motivation to even do a search for the number?  I've never researched a company that I've been happy with.  (Yeah, I know, every so often you should but, like many, I let some things slide.)

Summation:  People that are happy with a company and feel totally confident about what they've paid and to whom do NOT search the telephone number and, therefore, have no reason to be here to post.

REAL Reason for posts:  To "keep up appearances" and APPEAR legitimate when, in reality, all they do is confirm the LACK of legitimacy ...== SCAM.

I can't believe any of these people ALLEGEDLY gave money to anyone without knowing the Company's Name, Address, local telephone number, and CCA# ... besides not having a debt validation letter and verifying the debt.  smh

What are you people's phone numbers?  Heck, if you'll give them money, you might want to give me a bunch!  Some of it might even go towards paying $5 on one of your bills ... nah, that'd be PART of what I tipped the restroom attendant at that fine restaurant where I'll be dining!

An e-mail is legal proof of NOTHING! If these jokers do not, or refuse to, supply you with a full & legitimate notice of validation by mail (NOT e-mail or Fax.) pay them nothing!
Believe NOTHING you're told on the phone, read on the internet or receive as an e-mail. DEMAND proof of any collectors claims be mailed to you. As per federal law under the FDCPA. When they refuse or start the usual lies, bluffs & bluster they have proven themselves to be FRAUDS!
VERIFY any info. you receive from a collector. If it's not in writing in front of you, it doesn't exist. If you can't verify the collectors claims and their legitimacy, pay them NOTHING!
It's not the consumers obligation to prove he does not owe a debt. It's the collectors job to prove the debt is legitimate. By LAW! If a collection outfit doesn't adhere to the FDCPA it means they can't. Which means their claims are fraudulent or plain outright FRAUD!
The two things that all consumers need to know when it comes to debt collectors (Legitimate or not) is their rights under the FDCPA & the Statutes of Limitations, concerning debts, in their state. The FDCPA is simple. Just Google it. The SOLs vary by state and the debt type. Some states have SOLs that are as little as 3 years, others range up to 10 years. It's easy enough to determine your states SOLs. Again, just Google it. If a debt is past the SOL it does not mean that a collector can't try to collect. It just means the collector has no legal grounds to sue. He can try, but few do because they know the case will be dismissed. The ones that attempt to sue anyway are the ones that depend on people to not show up in court, thereby receiving a judgement by default. NEVER ignore a summons! A lot of the shadier outfits will pull this kind of crap. They gamble on the defendant not appearing. When they lose that bet, they lose a lot of money. And they leave themselves, and their Attys., open to the wrath of an un-amused Judge.
It is illegal for a collector to threaten a suit if they have no intention, or the ability, to follow through. Many do though. It's a favored intimidation tactic used by fraudulent collectors. Be aware of it. Threats of arrest are also commonly used by fraudulent & bogus collectors. You WILL NOT be arrested for debt. EVER! Debt is a civil matter, NOT a criminal one. The scummier frauds like to argue this point. They ALWAYS lose the argument. We see the frauds "Shills" on here all the time. They like to claim that loans are backed by "bad checks" or that Pymts. were not able to be deducted from Accts. making it the same as a bad check. NEVER fall for that line of BS! The laws regarding this are complex but very clear. When a collector uses this line of malarkey he's proven himself to be a FRAUD!
If a collector is willing to "save" you a lot of money, it means one of two things. He's working for a junk debt buyer or he's a fraud. The frauds claims are pure BS. The junk debt buyers claims are BS only about 99.9% of the time. Again, verify any claims by demanding a validation notice by mail. And check the validity of EVERYTHING! Including the collector. If you are not supplied with the collection firms valid physical address (NOT PO boxes) assume they are frauds.
Frauds come in all shapes, sizes, sexes, races, etc. Variations are constant. But with a little research anyone can learn to defeat them. Know your rights & spread that knowledge to all you know!
Be Safe. Be Aware.
