I am so glad I decided to google the phone number!!! I was suppose to make a payment of 722 from a past due credit card from 2003 and from 4000 we settled to 722, but we are struggling. They emailed the paperwork with me to fax and them taking out of my bank but according to this I don't like the scare tactics and they did the same to me. They need to be more professional so I will save me the trouble and wait till I get something real in the mail.

My wife, mother-in-law, brother and I all received harassing phone calls from this company in the same vein. Someone will serve papers, etc. I called them back and asked for the name and number of their attorney so I could get my attorney to send a cease and desist. I got a PO Box.
PO BOX 257, Amherst, NY. 14228
I'm tempted to send them subscriptions to thousands of magazines.

GOT A FEW CALLS YESTERDAY WITH SAME MESSAGE, THEN THIS MORNING AGAIN.... I AM WAITING....SURPRISE FOR HIM

My son received a phone call thru Vonage Visual Voicemail from an unavailable number the same day as my sister-in-law did trying to reach my husband. The message was from Tim Reed a private courier about the documentation he would have to drop off which my husband would need to sign. I decided to call the 855 number to see what was going on. The woman I spoke to said my husband had a credit card debt which we owed over $4500 from several years ago which was never paid and she worked for an arbitration service trying to collect the debt before the courier delivered the documents so thy could offer us a lower settlement amount. She offered us $2,169.32 if we paid in four equal payments and advised us not to sign any documents delivered by courier. I told her I would need to verify about the company she worked for so she emailed me the settlement offer from Empire Mediation, PO Box 257, Amherst NY 14228. I tried to find out if this company was legit but could not find any info. I called her back wanting a physical address for Empire Mediation and she then offered a one time payment settlement of $1100. After I insisted for more info she put a man on the phone that said they were not allowed to give out their physical address. I told her I would call her back. Thank God my son sent me this link and advised me this was all a scam and not to call her back. Our attorney also advised this was probably just a scam and not to pay anything. I didn't call her back and the private courier never showed up at our door! This was yesterday and still no courier today either. What a SCAM!

received a call from 855-737-7798 I did not answer Tim Reed left a msg, has letter to deliver please return the call.
I did return the call to find out what was going on I was told I had two claims against me for over $4,000 but would settle for $1,800 if I paid by credit card no checks as checks would not leave a paper trail ?????? they said I signed for a line of credit with a Visa card and quit paying. I'm not going to pay anything.

Just a quick update. It has been well over a month since I started this thread. No one has showed up at my home or work. These people are running a scam. They try to sound so serious and threatening, but don't fall for it. They are simply trying to manipulate you through fear. Don't let them scam you! They aren't going to show up at your door. (Although I suppose that is the signal for these scammers to start posting that the "private couriers" did show up at their door and that this is serious and that things would have been better if they had called and settled with the "claimant"! Yeah right!) Again, they aren't coming to visit you (except over the phone), so don't be fooled!

I got the same call from the same # 855-737-7798 (yesterday). A guy name Tim Reed stated he is a private courier and had a document for me. That I need 2 ID and will be coming to see me at my home or work between 12pm-5pm. He called again this morning around 8:26am to let me know that he will be dropping by my work first then at my home and that I need to be available between 12-5pm. I'm waiting to see if this guy do come to my home or work and I'll ask him to show me his 2 types of ID and who he works for before I take the document.

But he can give me a claim# along with the 855-737-7798 and to call the#as soon ad we hang up.And they can stop the order immediately..What the hell is up with this? Had me rattling my brain all day, so i decided to Google the#and came across this website.. I GUESS IT'S A SCAM!!!! (I HOPE NO ONE SHOWS UP AT MY DOOR)

Very similar message on my end. Scary. My lady's name was Lia Simmons. Exact same message as above from restricted number. Does anyone think they will actually come to my work or home?

I have received 2 calls from Derek Morgan, a Licensed Process Server, stating he had important documents for me to sign for me to sign for and for me to have valid ID. One call received on a Friday and the other this Monday morning. He stated he would stop at my employment first and then at my home. This needs to be stopped!!!! I have no outstanding debt.

Sounds like a scam to me.
Just got a call from UNKNOWN. Didn't answer.
They called again 13 minutes later and left this voice mail. A woman by the name of Tracy Swanson said she was a licensed document carrier for a delivery of documentation on schedule 4U for immediate delivery in the next 24 to 48 hours. She would be delivering this documentation and would need to see a state issued photo ID. She doesn't know the contents and assumes that I have the phone number of the sender, but if I don't it is 855-737-7798 with a claim number. Finished the call that I have been notified and would see me at my job or home.
Wow! This is really good. She sounded so confident and authoritative. If I wasn't paying attention, I might actually call the number and reference the claim number to see what this is all about. They called my wife and left the same message about having something for me. If only it was Publishers Clearing House, then my troubles would be solved.
Carrier company not identified. Sender company not identified. If this was legit, I think they would both be stated in this call. If this was legit, I think they would just show up and deliver the documents. Why be so coy and catty about this?

I got the same call Steve F got above in NY and then I received a call from friends in Puerto Rico with same last name as mine that someone called them about some mortgage. Both times it was the same number to call back. This is definitely a scam of some kind.

Just got another call, this time from "Natalie" using a 214 phone number. Gave the same 855-737-7798 number to call along with a "warning" that her "carrier would be seeing me within two hours". This is almost funny! Downright scamtastic!!!

I received the exact same message, Mike Lane actually called back the next day, he couldn't give me any information over the phone, but he said from what he could see, the envelope he was delivering was coming from E.M. He then told me if i would have to call 855-737-7798 to resolve the issue, he also gave me a claim # and said he would be at my door between 3-5PM that day...i did not call the #, and he did not show up! Definite scam!
| BK 2013-12-06 23:53:48 Unknown |
Same here. The call was listed as "unknown". Gave the same 855-737-7798 number in the message. No one showed up at my work or home. Just a scare tactic to try and get me to call the phone number in the message. Scam, scam, scam.

| Steve F******** 2013-12-05 23:04:28 Debt Collector |
Just got a message from a "Michael Lane". Said he was a private courier and that he had some documentation that he would be bringing to my home and work address tomorrow afternoon between 12pm-5pm, and that I needed be make my self available to him and be able to present a valid photo ID. He said any questions should be referred to the claimant at 855-737-7798. He also have me reference number to give to the operator. He said that if I was able to resolve the matter with that office to have them issue an "immediate stop order on this. Otherwise, Steve F********, I will see you tomorrow afternoon."
I don't have any outstanding debt or pending lawsuits. Sounds like a scam.
I didn't find any other references to the 855-737-7798 but the overall pattern sounds like some of the scams detailed on 800notes.com:
