Have been getting calls every day, usually later in the early evening and no one is there or they leave no message. The number they are calling is a business phone so it is really annoying! The call last night left a partilal message that you could barely understand the beginning and said a packe would be coming a couple of weeks with instructions so I am guessing this is a scan.  The number was 855-814-9439 or toll free 866-852-7634.  I have also gotten calls from 855-743-3251, 855-714-4351, 855-703-7107, 855-769-9872, 855-784-0298.

What good does it do to report this here. ...I have reported these numbers here before and the calls continue....so what is this space for if you don;t do anything...so the Attorney General has been notified .....so why isnt he stopping it ?????

They call all hours of the day .....ring 3 or 4 times and hang up...I never answer but it is annoying and I want to know where/who sold my number?????

To be truthful, I also received a call and posted it in Oct2011 from this number.  The phone companies need to be fined for this type of calls because they are abetting scamers and marketeers.

Just got a call from this number.  HOW DO WE STOP THE 855 number from working??? I did not answer but it rings conveniently continues until my answering machine picks up.  The phone companies actually charge us double for services and gives these scam/marketeer callers breaks on providing rotating numbers that the DCNR can't keep up with or ignore.

I think I have the perfect solution. I don't answer any 800 thru 899 area codes. A real loser for the legit 800 #s. Seems to me the only reason I should be concerned with an 800 # is for me saving long
distance charges when calling businesses.

Maybe the reason for the fast hang-up is that it is a computer dialing our numbers along with several others and if someone else answers, it hangs up on us.  I don't even attempt to answer any toll-free number.  Have found though that if it is from some company that we have had dealings with (which allows them to call us), just call them and tell them you want to be taken off ther INTERNAL NO CALL list. Have done it before and it works, not immediately but the calls do stop.

I just blocked 3 more numbers on my Panasonic phone today, including this one.  In my experience one ring from a blocked caller may get thru, but then it's blocked.... no more listening to the ringing until the machine picks up.  Definitly worth the investment!!

Have been getting a steady stream of calls from 1-855-798-6815. When I pick up they hang up. When I try to find out who they are, like the other posters note, the message is that the line hasn't been activated yet.

The phone company should know that this creates cynicism and frustration toward them on the part of their customers. They provide the line that I pay for every month and it is up to them to put a stop to this harassment. We are already on the do not call list, have been for years.

A lot of these spam callers are calling just to find out when you are home. Once you answer they have the info they need then forward your number and the time of day you are available to a myriad of other telemarketers who will then call you at that time.

why do they have our phone number& know who we are, but when we type in this phone number it is unlisted or unavailable to track without paying a fee to a private company?  I am with the person who says, if we cannot get these companies or individuals to stop, then get rid of the land line.  perhaps then and only then will the phone companies who by the way, are profiting off the companies purchasing these lines and their usuage from the phone company get the message. and by the way, every time I send a report to the do not call line, the dot gov, i get more email from senators running a campaign and useless and unwanted emails.  i tell ya, they are all in it together.  i am going to try the attorney generals office to see if i can get some help there. and yes, i could use another $42 a month in my pocket.

this and answered it to give them a piece of his mind.  No one would say anything.....
Too bad when we can't even have control of our own phone number and privacy.

If this is truly a call from the Autism Foundation, then there is NOTHING you can do about it.  Period!

Adding their number to the Fed's Do Not Call list will not work.  If it matches the number on file, it will be rejected internally.

The categories you have no control over are:

Charities
Political Organizations
Survey Takers
Debt Collectors
and any company you have done business with in the past.

Got a call but it showed up on callerid as 800 service.I did not answer call.  What happened to the Do Not Call Registry?  Why are phone companies issuing rotating numbers that change? They should be fined. How are telemarketing pranks like these getting away with it? Whatever happened to consumer protection?

I get repeated calls from this number from 8 a.m. to 9:00 at night.
 Phone rings three times and hangs up before answering machine kicks in.
 I have been on the National Do Not Call  list for several years but it doesn't seem to make a difference.  I must get 5-6 calls a day from different numbers and area codes.
 If I don't know the number, I do not answer but it is distracting and annoying.

Received call from this number on 10/3/11 @ 11:33 am.  Phone dead after answering.  Called number back and they said that number was on hold, not yet activated and suggested I call back at a later time.

Some guy gave me a spiel for a national ? organization for autism research. He claim  he wasn?t asking for any money and only wanted me to ?distribute? some educational material in my neighborhood. Thanks but no thanks & I hung up

For past 2 weeks, calls multiple times during the day from various 855 numbers.  Phone only rings twice and stops.

They call once or twice a day. When they hear that answering machine they hang up.

Got a call from this number today.  It was a collection agency for someone who had our  phone # eight years ago.  I tried to call the number back but the number doesn't accept calls.  I assume the number is "spoofed."

The real phone # is 877-806-0635 and 219-713-0730. It is the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation DBA  Autism Disorder Foundation, et al.  You will find their info at the state of  Washington Secretary of State.. Their mailing address is an UPS store in Schereville, In. Just Google  Autism Disorder Foundation.

So sick of these calls.  I must get about 6 a day.   I try to answer it so I can tell them to put me on their do not call list.   I don't know if that will work but when when I look at my call log 90% of the numbers are these calls.   Something has to be done.  

I answered one today and she said she was not looking for money but she wanted to send me a kit so I could go around to my neighbors and inform them of this cause.   I told her NO and take me off your call list please.  

The other day I grabbed the phone and answered it with an attitude.  When the male spoke I laid into him.  He was saying wait a minute you don't even know who I am.   I said I don't care, stop calling me.  He said he was from our Boston newspaper that I usually subscribe to in the fall.  I had to apologize to him.

OOOPS!  That should have read "that she had NOT called our number".

We got a call from this number this afternoon.  My caller ID got the number and I dialed it back.  A female answered and I asked who had called my phone number.  She said that she was a student and that she
had called our number.  I consider that to be bovine scatology or BS.

calls several times a day and as late as 10:00pm. Never speaks or leaves a message.

Sharon, two possibilities, besides also reporting to the AG's office and the Do Not Call registry.

1. Check with your phone provider to see if it offers call blocking. I have 15 numbers blocked with Optimum Online, my phone company here in the East.

2. It can be well worth the investment of getting a portable phone that will offer call-blocking, which, of course,  covers any other phones in the house. They're usually fairly inexpensive at a discount store or warehouse one, like Sam's Club or BJ's. I have 30 numbers blocked in my Panasonic phones. Check Consumer's Reports at the library if need be to see which phone might be right for you.

I'm just grateful for call-blocking and this website.
