Received a call today and the person (female) said she was with Yahoo!  I asked if they were affiliated and they said no, they are Yahoo! and started inquiring about what we did to drive traffic to the website and if we did any paid search marketing.

Received a call from this number, caller spoke English, claimed to be with Yahoo advertising.

This is a telemarketer, or otherwise unwanted caller.

Chica you are wrong!  My message said from "Google Partners" :p hehe So, obviously it is telemarketing because they mention different companies to different callees... Besides the caller ID was completely blank, not even a number.

I hate those calls. To be honest, they are just trying to make a living and provide a decent service. I don't work for them, with them or even on their industry but I know what they do and how they work.  They are just trying to do business and most of them are honest. A couple of times have heard what they offer and makes sense technically and financially.

Nevertheless, damn annoying and not interested.  They are not shady, just a different culture. And very annoying :)

Said he was Chris with Yahoo, told him we weren't interested.

Same story as others... he claimed to be named Alfred Smith and had a very heavy accent, couldn't make out the company name or really what he was saying. The line was clear, but couldn't understand with his accent.  I will not be calling back...

Man called and said his name was Robert (I think) his accent was real thick and he was cutting in and out. I asked him who he was calling for and he asked for me by name. The next time I asked who he was he hung up.

Scam.  Spam.  Blocked, anonymous number.  

Actually left a message, claimed his name is "Danny Adams," and considering the heritage of the name Adams, his thick accent did not match the name.  It's very probable that the name is an alias because he is acutely aware that what he is doing is fraud and morally reprehensible.  He claimed the reason for the call is the "relocated account for the business website."  Please.  

Don't fall for this scam or any other like it.

Jacques (?) called asking for business owner in regards to a Google ad placement. Heavy accent as well.

Just received a call from him - I could tell from the get-go that he wasn't legit asking for "the business owner" and whether "he" was available.  When I asked him what business/website he was referring to he couldn't tell me. I ended that call quickly.

This guy is from Egypt. Confirmed. Had to block all incoming calls from unknown area codes because of that a***ole.
Serious issue here.

Said his name was Jack-had a very heavy accent. Wanted to speak to the business owner about the business web site

Received a voicemail from an unknown number today.
The man leaving the message had a heavy accent, and the connection was breaking up quite badly.
He said his name was "Kevin Cruise" and was 'responding to my Google Ad on Home Services." He then left this number to return his call back.

Totally sketchy!
I am frustrated because I would like to know how these people get my number!

I had them persistently call me this Fall (2011), pretending to have some special arrangement with Google and the power to decide who ranks first.   I asked for it in writing as a contract and that stopped it.  Now I am getting calls again.  I am not calling back.

This is absolute crap.  I called them back.  They want to sell you Google ad placement.  They claim to know SEO, but they are selling non organic ad placement for outrageous rates.  BUYER BEWARE!

Just got a call from them too. Tone of voice mail message sounds sketchy.
